Just throwing this out there - I am an avid Florida Gator fan. My question to all my fellow comrades is will Tim Tebow win a second Heisman before going pro?
Winning a Heisman ONCE is tough, a second...almost impossible. Archie Griffin being the only one to win it twice, the odds are heavily set against Tebow.
Tebow WAS the Florida Gator offense this past season. I think the coaching staff will make it a point to spread things out a bit. He wont have the type of #'s he had this year again. I'm gonna put my money on, "No."
Its not impossible or completely out of the question but 2 heismans is extremely tough. With Moody coming in to fill the RB (or lack of) spot, Tebow will have to make up those incredible numbers in mainly the passing game. Which isn't out the question since he has more experience now and has shown the ability to throw a nice looking deep ball. If Tebow does win the Heisman again, his numbers won't be as good as they were last season but I could see him in the mix for the award if the Gators are in the national title hunt in December.
I watch him against Michigan in the Capital 1 Bowl. First time I seen him in action. This kid has all the tools to be very successful. Winning the Trophy once is hard in it's self, twice is a whole different ball game. If anything the passing stats will have to improve and i think they will. He has one full season at the helm and Meyer has to know what he has got by now and Meyer will tweal things this year for the improvement to happen.
It's not impossible but I doubt it. If Urban is serious about giving Moody carries and playing a second QB to take the load off of Tebow, then he will be unable to replicate the numbers he put up last year.
This may be OSU bias, but I dont think he will be able to match Archie, I think thats one of thos ethings that might never happen again, with that said it would take someone like Tebow to do it.
No one loves the Gators more than me, but I say no to a 2nd Heisman. Tebow will win an other NC, and in three years he'll have two rings, and a Heisman. Thats enough! It'll then be time for him to play in the NFL, and at least earn a starting job.
