Why what Urban Meyers is doing is wrong | The Ramblings of a Crazed Louisianian

I don't agree with what Urban Meyers is doing with the program offering a full ride to anyone who can out run Percy Harven. My reasoning is that first of all this is just for publicity. Also Percy Harven is hurt and what is Florida gonna do without the other half of their passing game. also students won't be racing against Percy at his best so is it really that big of a deal if somebody beats him. Also this poor man who is gonna be killed by the hard hitting of the SEC what happens if he is seriously hurt what kind of publicity is that gonna bring to the program. Overall there is a small chance this turns out to be a good idea and a bigger one that it turns out to be a bad idea. All this is is a publicity stunt.

While I'm here I want to write about another subject a man named Josh Johnson. He's the former QB of San Diego U. He is unbelievable I just heard of him at the end of this season so I decided why not go check him out on youtube or any where else I could find some video on him and he makes defenses look like they're in junior high. Remember me saying this because the team who picks him up will be getting the next Warren Moon. This season he threw 43 Td's and had 1 Int. that's a whole new kind of good. He ran a 4.53 at the draft and was 31- 4 as a starter he also had almost 10,000 career passing yards. Look for him to come out of nowhere and start in the next 3 years.

Don't you think it might be because Meyer wants to show that he isn't as hurt as everyone says he is? Nothing wrong with a little publicity...besides, the only people who could possibly out-run him, they'd probably want on their team anyway. Seems like a win-win to me.

i see where youre coming from, but just to let you know Percy Harvin isnt racing. It is between Chris Rainey, Deonte Thompson, and Louis Murphy. Harvin has been out of it since he's been hurt. And Meyer even admitted that it was for publicity, to show that he wants to recruit speed. oh yea and by the way congrats on the championship!

did I read on cnnsi.com that Florida's spring game will be televised on ESPN? wow.

Anyways, that does seem kinda weird that Meyer is doing this. Does he even have extra scholarships? Why would you need to publicize your quest for speed?

I did like one thing Meyer said, "[We're] just trying to give back because they're the home-field advantage, they're recruiting. Our kids meet the students on recruiting weekends. You can't forget them." Very smart. Making the spring game interactive is a good idea, but it is not necessary in the south b/c football addicts will be chomping at the bit to get some NCAA football in their system regardless.
