For our next project we decided to redo maybe the deepest NBA draft of all-time. And when I mean deep, I MEAN DEEP. Absolutely everyone drafted in the first round of our re-draft can contribute a lot to their teams, which you never really see in a draft. So without futher ado I'm happy to present another bundle of our hardwork.
1st Pick-CLE- LYNCHisOTGY
Lebron James-SF-St. Mary's Highschool
LeBron is the best player in the draft even though he is just in high school. There is no doubt that LeBron will make this team a Championship contender in the NBA. This also works out because both sides get a good deal. The Cavs get the best player in the draft and LeBron gets to stay in his hometown.
2nd Pick-DET- Elway4Prez
Chris Bosh-PF/C- Georgia Tech
I know this pick is controversial but I feel it's the best move possible. Lebron is the only guy in this draft that you need, no matter who you have. Wade might be on the same level, minus injuries and Carmelo would be close without all the trouble he's gotten in. Center was there biggest hole in the draft coming in, that's why they took a shot with Milicic. With Okur and Wallace bound to leave, Bosh could step in and replace him with his 20 and 10 skills. They draft Bosh and not only do they win this championship, but at least another in the next three years.
3rd Pick-DEN- Dawgee Fresh
Carmelo Anthony-SF-Syracuse
I thought about Dwayne Wade but then I realized he made too many turnovers. Carmelo is the better rebounder and scorer and that is what the Denver Nuggets need.
4th Pick-TOR- NYFAN
Chris Kaman-C-Central Michigan
Kaman is one of the most underrated players in the game today. At 7 feet he's one of the best rebounders in this draft and would give the Raptors the low post presence that they desperately need. Since Chris Bosh is already gone, he's the only choice since the Raptors already have Carter. Kaman would add a great defender to the Raptors and is well worth the 4th pick.
5th Pick-MIA- Denis 24
Dwayne Wade-SG-Marquette
Wade is an excellent athlete who has great leaping ability and is extremely quick, exactly what the Heat need. He led Miami to a championship, so why can't he do the same thing now. He plays sound defense and is very good at reading the passing lanes. You can see his display of heart and determination when he is one the court. They need to make that a winning organization, and Wade is the man.
6th Pick-LAC- PhillyEagles36
Josh Howard-SF/SG-Wake Forest
He is a great player that was a steal in this draft for the Mavs. He is a very good scorer, great rebounder and defensive player.
7th Pick-CHI- Real Sports
Kirk Hinrich-PG-Kansas
I chose him because Point Guard Jay Williams was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident and will not be returning for some time if at all. Hinrick can help because with the need of PG not only will he help fill the void he will bring young talent . In college he led the team in assists and was also voted into the "All-Big 12 Second Team" and awarded "All Third Team" status. He topped the team (Kansas) in free throw shooting and three-point shooting while ranking second in assists (5.0 apg), minutes played (30.9 minutes per game) and third in scoring and steals. Hinrich helped Kansas get to the NCAA Championship Game and was named the NCAA Tournament Midwest Region's "Most Outstanding Player." Kirk Hinrick obviously helped his team get places and in the NBA I feel the Kirk will help the Bulls make a playoff appearance and get a ticket to the Finals.
8th Pick-MIL- Dyhard
Leandro Barbosa-SG-Brazil
He is a good player who will help out the Bucks as a 6th man, and who would crack the lineup too.
9th Pick-NYK- Danbash
David West-PF-Xavier
In during the 2002-2003 season, the Knickerbockers sorely lacked a low-post presence, with Kurt Thomas as the only semi-reliable big-man and (gasp) Michael Doleac to back him up. West would fix that problem right up.
Since he was drafted, his production has increased every year, including an All-Star appearance this past year. West would be a great compliment to uber
malcontent Latrell and creaky-kneed Allan Houston.
10th Pick-WAS- Denis24
Nick Collison-PF-Kansas
The Wizards need a big body down low to bruise other opponents. He is a talented young big-man the Wizards need with the aging Charles Oakley on the roster. With a lineup including Hughes, Stackhouse, and now Collison, they could become a good team. I was hoping that David West drops to me though, which didn't end up happening.
11th Pick-GS- Dawgee Fresh
T.J. Ford-PG-Texas
I am taking T.J. Ford because Golden State did not have a good point guard in 2003. Ford is a very reliable point guard and would have a good target to pass to in Jason Richardson.
12th Pick-SEA- Hemogoblin
Steve Blake-PG-Maryland
I took him over Luke Ridnour (who's my favorite U of O player ever) because he's everything that Ridnour was supposed to be. A great three point shooter, a great passer, and unlike Rid, Blake can play some defense too.
13th Pick-MEM- Indycolts
Boris Diaw-PF-France
The 03 Grizzlies needed a versatile player of the bench. Diaw can play 3 positions well so the team could have some flexibility. Over the next few years following the draft it would allow Memphis to shift Pau to C. Diaw would then slide into the 4, Battier would stay at the 3. Mike Miller would play the 2 and Jason Williams PG. This team would be able to compete however with out any additions to the bench they would have a tough time making it out of the 1st round in the West.
14th Pick-SEA-Hemogoblin
Jason Kapono-SG-UCLA
He's a great three point shooter, and he'd thrive in the run and gun system that the Sonics at this time played.
15th Pick-ORL- IndyColts
Kendrick Perkins-C-Ozen High School
That year the Magic had no low post scoring. Shawn Kemp averaged 6 PPG, and 6 REB. Perkins was not a great offensive player when he came into the league but is decent now. However, when he did come into the league he was a very good defensive player.
16th Pick-BOS-LYNCHisOTGY
Travis Outlaw-SF-Starkville High School
For the 03-04 season, the Celtics are still looking to build around Paul Pierce. Outlaw is the best player available to fit around Pierce.
17th Pick-PHX-Elway4Prez
Maurice "Mo" Willaims-PG-Alabama
I'm really surprised, yet happy, that Mo is still here. In my mind he is the top PG in the draft hands down. This is of course before the Steve Nash era so they still needed one since Barbosa is gone. (And he isn't a true PG in the first place.) Let's hope this fantastic steal for the Suns will get them more than 29 wins.
18th Pick-NO-The Guru
Luke Walton-SF-Arizona
LUUUUUUUUKKKKEEE Walton. This versatile player will give be a solid backup to the often injured Jamal Mashburn. His intensity will compliment the high flying Hornets of 2004.
19th Pick-UTAH-Danbash
Luke Ridnour-PG-Oregon
Stockton and Mark Jackson were on their way out, and Deron Williams wasn't quite on his way in yet. Who better to be the guy to bridge the gap than Ridnour? Ridnour is a great competitor and has a good feel for the game. While he's not super athletic, he makes up for it with great decision-making skills and outstanding outside shot.
20th Pick-BOS-LYNCHisOTGY
Carlos Delfino-SG-Argentina
Defino can contribute to this Celtics team because he can, like Outlaw, be a good fit around Paul Pierce, which is what the Celts are trying to do at this time.
21st Pick-ATL-IndyColts
Kyle Korver-SG-Creighton
The 02-03 hawks lacked a consistent shooter from the 2 spot. Korver is one of the best 3 pt shooters in the NBA. He plays defense and would be a great addition off the bench. Korver would give the Hawks a legitimate chance to make the playoffs over the next few years.
22nd Pick-NJN-Elway4Prez
Sasha Pavlovic-SG-Serbia
Their original pick, Zoran Palinic, hasn't done much for them. Instead I'll give them another foreigner except this one's a little more talented. It was a close contest between Sasha and Keith Bogans but Sasha is 3 years younger and only scores one less point a game. Sasha is an instant 7th man on the roster but he could develop into the 6th guy or even a starter down the road.
23rd Pick-POR-TheHemogoblin
Mickael Pietrus-SF-France
He's athletic, like Portland's original pick, he's good defensively, like Portland's original pick, and he's not going to kill you anywhere. This far down in the round to take a player like this is truly a testament to the depth of the '03 draft.
24th Pick-LAL-Denis24
Darko Milicic-C-Serbia
I believe if he would have went to a better team, one that could have given him some playing time, he would have turned into a 15 and 10 guy. I love his potential on this Lakers team, who, eventually, need to get younger. He only averaged about half-a-dozen minutes per game. He is being called "overrated" way to much because of his high draft pick. I would rather have Darko to develop than Brian Cook, an outside shooter.
25th Pick-DET-Elway4Prez
Keith Bogans-SG-Kentucky
I would have just stuck with Carlos Delfino, who is turning out to be a fine player, but sadly he was snatched up 5 picks ago. I'll have to settle with an equally talented player with less of a ceiling in Bogans. You gotta love any bench player that can give you 10 points a night but Bogans is even more than that. He's also a do-it-all rebounder and passer.
26th Pick-MIN-Dawgee Fresh
Jarvis Hayes-SF-Georgia
I will take Jarvis Hayes because he has been a very reliable bench player for the Detroit Pistons. If he goes to a team where he can start, he could be an All-Star.
27th Pick-MEM-IndyColts
Willie Green-SG-Detriot
Green is a versatile player who usually plays SG. Even though the Grizzlies have Mike Miller Green gives them an option at the 2 or 3 that the 02-03 Grizzlies lacked; a slasher who can get to the hole. Green can guard 3 players and would be an average player on this team. After already getting a low post threat in Diaw it was time to get another guy on the wing who can get to the hole.
28th Pick-PHX-Elway4Prez
James Jones-SF-Miami
J.J. was a fantastic bench player while he was here in Phoenix. The only thing really holding him back from being a full time starter was Shawn Marion and the injury bug. But even though he can be considered "injury-prone", he is still worthy of a draft pick because of his ability to give 10 points off the bench every night. So allow me to invite him to the valley of the sun a few years in advance.
29th Pick-DAL-Elway4Prez
Matt Carroll-SG-Notre Dame
It's too bad someone stole the Mavericks steal, if that makes any sense. Yes I'm talking about the all-star Josh Howard. Sadly he had to pack up to L.A. where hopefully the weed is cheaper. (Was that too far?) Anyways I'd like to reward an undrafted player who has been a solid bench player by actually drafting him. So step on up Matt Carroll and bring your ten points per game with you.

Report Offensive CommentGreat job. Wade fell a bit too far, Barbosa should be above Hinrich. Besides that, I agree with basically all the picks
