Mark Jackson?

Now, that the Knicks have decided to hire Mike D'Antoni as their head coach, please allow me to start the Mark Jackson for St. John's Head Coach Campaign. Much has been made of Mark not having experience as a head coach. However, on the college level that point is moot. Although, he didn't have that much success I can relate Mark as the Red Storm Coach to Clyde Drexler, when he took over his alma mater the University of Houston a few years ago. In any case I think it is imperative that the powers at be at Saint John's University look to bring the last remnant of their glory years, home.

The number two all time assists leader, a former Big East player of the year, and sixth man on the 1984-1985 team that made the Final Four (the closest St. John's have came since then was the Elite Eight in 1999) Mark Jackson would be a good man for the school to sell as the one that can bring it back to it's Glory days in the Big East, and nationally. Also, being a product of Bishop Loughlin High School in Brooklyn, he can be sold as a hometown product that can reconnect with the local high schools. This is something that current coach Norm Roberts has failed to do. While he was successful at bringing talent from Rice High School in the Bronx, in particular, to Kansas during his time as an assistant, Norm has failed to land any major city talent to the Red Storm. Mark can hopefully change that.

Regardless, Norm has failed. I have said this on numerous occasions. It's time for a change and that change is Mark Jackson. In this year of change and election, please support me in my campaign to have Mark Jackson as the next coach of the St. John's Red Storm. Together we can do it.

As always, thanks for reading.

I hope this happens,he would bring another deminsion to the team and make them even more fun to watch

I really can see this happening. Well, as long as Mark actually campaigns for it. If Mark wants this to happen, then Norm is gone.

No matter what Norm has to go. The key player in this whole thing is Louie Carnasecca. If Louie endorses an old time St. John's player for the job then it has to happen.

The man still runs the place. I saw him once at the Sly Fox drinking a beer. Had to introduce myself. He was cool.

Jackson at the college level?? I think he could do a better job than in the NBA. Too many egos.

It could work for him in college. He seems like an in your face enough guy to put a college kid in line.

Slogans for Mark Jackson. I am taking some time off of work to picket outside of Father Harrington's Office.
