Knicks deny D'Antoni offer

Posted: Saturday May 10, 2008 08:48AM ET

The Knicks continue to deny reports that they are on the verge of offering Mike D'Antoni a contract to become their next coach. Donnie Walsh, the team's new president, sent word Friday through the Knicks' media relations department that reports of D'Antoni receiving a five-year deal are "inaccurate."

Well, if the Knicks haven't come to terms with D'Antoni on a contract, they are really wasting the time of the media, and giving fans false hope. If the Knicks know what is good for them, they will sign D'Antoni to a long-term contract, and they will make New York happy.

The Knicks' poor performance over the last couple of years has been hell for Knicks fans. They want to win, and D'Antoni knows how to win.

Although D'Antoni would be coming to a team that pales in comparision with the Pheonix Suns, I believe he could work wonders with the young players on this team. Jamal Crawford, David Lee and possibly Derrick Rose could thrive under D'Antoni.

But, like I've said hundreds of times, anyone who they hire will be better than Isiah.

The deal has already happened. Walsh lied.

D'Antoni is basically Larry Brown part 2. What I mean is that this is Dolan once again throwing money at the problem.

Mike may succeed here but I doubt it.
