Baseball's steroid era, Cincinnati Bengal's arrest report, Spygate, Collegiate Allegations, NBA's marijuana issue - I could go on forever - With all of the negativity surrounding sports why is it that we despise our Class Act Superstars, or wait anxiously for them to falter? With the 4 major sports, I have 4 Class Acts that, outside their respected cities, families, and friends are despised by American Sports Nation...Opposing fans and media.
Tom Brady QB New England Patriots
Despite is head coach under fire for Spygate, this guy is not only the best quarterback in the league, he is a gentleman on and off the field. What more can you ask for a 7th round draft pick that won Superbowl after Superbowl with no name receivers. Hell, after the Steelers won the Superbowl in 2005 Roethlisberger needed that motorcycle just to deflate his enormous head. He is business first on the field, and I am sure the same with Gisele ;). He is media friendly and a positive role model when 75% of the players on the field any given Sunday have arrest sheets and HGH in their system. Outside of the New England area he is hated by the masses. Just watch TMZ and listen to the comments the p'razi and New Yorkers scream at him when he is visiting his Vickie's Secret bombshell in the upper eastside.
Alex Rodriguez 3B New York Yankees
When its all said and done, this guy is going to own almost every single offensive record in baseball, and never jabs back towards the media or the Yankee Faithful, even though it would be rightfully justified and overdue. I mean is there anything this man can do right playing for the team he grew up loving and his hometown? The best thing this Class Act can do is get out of the AL East and play for a mediocre team that will treat him like the baseball god he is.
Sidney Crosby C Pittsburgh Penguins
This one bothers me the most, and not just for the fact he plays in my hometown. This Kid has resurrected the NHL from the grave and everyone outside of Pittsburgh hates him. I know hate is a strong word, but believe me there is no other word to describe opposing fans, players, and cities feel toward this Superstar. I mean at 19 he was the MVP of the league and scoring champ...At 19 I was rippin' beer bongs and wrackin' up sorority chicks. This Kid has the responsibility to salvage an entire sport, and is the Ultimate Gentleman in press conferences when being attack from all directions. Keep it up Sid, we (Sports Fans) will grow up someday...But I wouldn't hold your breath.
Kobe Bryant SG LA Lakers
OK, OK. I know he has cried a lil here, banged some slut in CO...By the way, how is it possible to rape a 5'3" skinny white girl through the back door when you are a 6'7" African American??? Believe me, I am a 6'4" caucasian and it takes effort on both parties to accomplish such a feet. But minus that out and he is a class act. When Shaq departed and was trashing him left and right, Kobe was quiet and professional. The Lakers promised him the Moon and Stars and they didnt fulfill their duties and Kobe wanted out, who could blame him. He also did it in a professional manner, he didnt trash the organization he kept it simple. And when the season started he rallied his teammates and now they are the #1 seed in the West. If you disagree, compare him to any Denver Nugget or New York Knick and you'll see...The NBA is a hard place to find a class act, but Kobe is at the top, well as superstars go.
I conclude this by saying that all Sports Media asks for is a solid role-model, BUT when they get one they are so angry towards them, because most sports writers are documenting someone else living their dreams.
Jealousy & Envy are deeply rooted in our Sports Media.
