Black Power in Beantown!

www.SportsByTheNumbers.com

Watching LeBron James dismantle the Celtics in Cleveland last night was not a big concern of mine. So far, the C's haven't won a playoff road game. They look tired and old when they step on the court.

But true to form, the Big 3 will come to play when they get back to Boston. Should go 7 games.

Now, here is what concerns me. I feel like I had a light bulb go off last night. I was watching the game and I thought back to my childhood when I use to watch Bird, McHale, and Parish rule the court (Except in LA).  I know the Celts have been wearing black in their uniform for awhile now, but it never sank in.

Where did this black come from?? Bird never wore black, McHale never wore black. Parish never wore black!

Green and white was all it took.

It shocked me to think that I just grew accustomed to this. Where's the tradition???? Do these guys really think that it looks cooler? Do they think they look darker and scarier? Do they really think that King James is going to bow down? Not a chance.

Do Red a favor and wear the green suits. Go old school.

For Celtics fans everywhere, do what you have to do to win that ring. But honestly... with your play on the road, the black just doesn't make you that fearsome. Black Power on the jersey just isn't working for me.
