This Week in MMA May 12th to May 19th Pt. 1 Different Fights

11 Record (1-1) of Patrick Smith during this week last year. First he lost to Tom Clemen at XFS 5 in Boise, Idaho on May 12, 2007. Then on May 18th he TKO'd Scott Arnold at UGC 18 in Montreal, Quebec. More recently Smith has lost with the law. First he was arrested for leading police on a high speed chase on March 25th. Then only a few weeks ago, on April 29th he was arrested again, this time for failing to register as a sex offender in Bryant County, Oklahoma. He was convicted in 1999 for sexually assaulting a 14 year old girl.

13 Number of wins (13) compiled by Urijah "The California Kid" Faber after he submitted Charlie Valencia at King of the Cage on May 13, 2006, weeks after the fight he fought about (13) guys. He actually said about 12 guys with weapons, bottles, brass knuckles and hammers. This happened on vacation in Bali and what was just a fight became a fight for his life when he whipped most of them and was chased by others from a club through the Bali streets. Faber obviously made it out alive, but with a bunch of cuts and scrapes and said he feared the hospital bill would be around $2,200. Turned out to be only $35 and he healed fast. He also said he learned a valuable lesson, "Don't (expletive) with the Balinese people and it takes more than twelve Balinese with weapons to kill "The California Kid"!

79 Might as well stick with Urijah Faber since we just touched on his crazy Bali story...May 14, 19(79) when Faber was born at home with mid-wives instead of Doctors. Those ladies must've been sturdy because they helped deliver one tough kid. Not counting the ten or so wins in Bali, the WEC champ is currently 20-1 with a huge fight against Jens Pulver set for June 1st.
