If there's one thing I've preached these last few days, in relation to the Nationals' pitching, it's that they have to focus, focus, FOCUS!!! You simply can not give away a lead staked by the starting pitching.

Tonight, despite the best efforts of the bullpen to send me into apoplexy, the Nats wind up winning over the Padres, 6-4. It seems like every day this week, the starters do quality work...and the bullpen does their damnedest to screw it up. It was no exception tonight.

I knew Jesus Flores was good with the bat, but man oh man, a grand slam?? His 1st one, no less. That and Lastings Milledge's jack should've been enough support for Odalis Perez. As always, the bullpen didn't get the memo...

I don't know exactly what the problem is with the bullpen of late, but this b.s. has to stop here and now. When you keep going to this bullpen night after night, it becomes a broken record...or, worse case scenario, a broken bullpen. Chad Cordero won't be back for a few more weeks, and I realize everyone's playing out of their normal role(s) in the bullpen...but Jesus Christ, can't this pen get their heads straight??

Manny Acta's not a manager; he's a effing miracle worker right now. I mean, 8 games under .500 (after tonight), when you'd expect it to be twice that right now. How's that line go?? "These are the times that try men's souls". Sounds about right at this stage of the season.

It's late, and I need sleep. But, it's a West Coast swing for the Nats; after the getaway game @ San Diego later today (Thursday), it's off to Arizona for 3 with the D-Backs. Which means, watching till midnight or 1 A.M. to see the soap opera known as the Nationals' bullpen. Lovely...

Does the Nats sucking really suprise you DC? Only a Padres team can cure what ails them.

Perhaps the reason they cannot focus is they are looking at Cassidys avatar too much. Its messin' with my focus pretty good this morning.

Then again, EVERY ONE of her avatars messes with me as of late. Que sera, sera...
Anyway, the game yesterday pissed me off yet again. This kid Charlie Manning, who they brought up from Columbus...I'm afraid he's in over his head now. Giving up that 3-run homer to Jody Gerut (but only 1 run charged to him) tells me that.
Excuse me, Cass, but did you bother to read this blog?? I said, looking at everyone on the DL, it's a fricking MIRACLE the Nats are only 9 games under .500 right now. WHY do you want to push my button at this stage???
Enough to make one go "bbbbbbbbbbbbb....bbbbbbbbbbbbb..."...
