A look back on the 2007-08 season of the Pittsburgh Penguins can be described in one word: amazing. And for that, Penguins, I want to say thanks.
Game 6 was one to remember. Even though the Wings dominated much of the game, and the series for that matter, the Pens certainly made it interesting. For a team who most people unfairly disrespected all through the playoffs, they did pretty well in their first Stanley Cup Final since 1992. Hopefully now, they can get some credit for being a good team, especially since their plow through the Eastern Conference was constantly downplayed. This season has been incredible, considering the major injuries to top players. And speaking of top players...
The Crosby bashing has soared to new heights this year, all stained with bright green envy. He's 20 years old, and he hates losing. For once and for all, give this kid a break. He was hailed as the NHL's savior before his voice had changed, (talk about pressure) and he's already won a hart trophy and been to the Stanley Cup finals. Yes, perhaps many people in the hockey world act like he is the only player who exists, and yes, he's been known to complain to the ref's (by the way, most great stars do the same). But let him be, give him time to mature, and keep hoping that your team may someday have a player like Crosby. It's not his fault that most of the media attention goes to him. He is so young, with so much growing to do and the loss the Pens just endured at the hands of Detroit will most certainly speed up the process. How many hockey player have been compared to Wayne Gretzky before they got drafted? So please, get a life, stop using tired, and extremely un-original nicknames for Sid. He is working to be an all around player, not just a point machine. Perhaps an actual hockey observer may see that. He doesn't decide if he can kill penalties or not, therefore very soon he will be an incredible complete player.

All kidding aside, BOTH teams should be congratulated for this series. NEXT year, the Cup comes to DC!!!!

Oops forgot they didn't get 5 1st Round #1 Draft Picks in a row like someone else did. Thought I would mention it since above Memories doesn't.

Pens did a great job this year. They've got a bright future ahead and I wouldn't be amazed if they were back in the finals next year. Would be great to have a rematch.
I agree that all the Crosby bashing is just stupid. Kid is gonna be a force for years to come. Fluery put on a show that's for sure. They could have folded after game 2 but came back and played gritty hockey.
Kudos to the Pens and their fans...especially the ones who stayed and cheered the cup when it wasn't their team skating it.
