Ok, So I am going to propose this idea. Let me make one request and I know this is a hard one. Lets not get into which conference is God's gift to the world of football. With that said...

How cool would it be to steal the idea from college basketball and have these two major football powerhouse conferences square off against each other. My thinking is both conferences can benefit from it. The guys in the B10 get to replace a horrible team and add cred to their schedule or just add another game. This also would help with the lay-off which tends to be a major excuse as to why some B10 schools struggle in bowl season. The SEC would get a chance to play some teams up north to shut up the critics that say they never leave the south. That and it would prove that noone, not even the Thundercats could beat any SEC team, sorry had to.

So I will try to make a few sample games to discuss, feel free to add your own thoughts...

NC game rematch in Columbus...... OSU v. LSU

Another rematch..........................  UM v. UF

Here's one I thought might be cool  PSU v. Alabama, think of the history in that game!

and a couple more,

 Wisconsin v. UGA ??
 Michigan State v. Kentucky ??

What ya got?

I'm for it ...............it would be interesting. Now, back to work.

It would be interesting.

Indiana vs. Kentucky would be better. There is a natural rivalry there.

That is a great idea..I don't think you'll ever get people to agree to it though unfortunately. But, it's a fantastic idea.

I would like to be given the chance to embarass Ohio State in Columbus, so they won't have any excuses this time around...

June 26, 2008  02:36 PM ET

as a badgers fan im getting tired of seeing some weak random stat paddable school at the beginning of the schedule, and theyve had some tough games vs sec teams recently in the bowls so would definitely love to see the two conferences come together and play more often

lol that is great xxx84.

As long as there's a BCS, there won't be anything like this even discussed. When could teams in both conferences schedule weak opponents if this were to happen?

June 26, 2008  04:40 PM ET

Won't work, but there was a detailed article about this here is the link

An I agree that this should happen.

I know I misspelled alot of words in that letter and I don't care

June 26, 2008  04:53 PM ET

NICE!

June 26, 2008  04:58 PM ET

But seriously I would like a Big 12 vs. Big 10 challenge, and a SEC vs. Pac 10 challenge, they both seem like better machups

June 26, 2008  05:39 PM ET

First off, you DON'T do this in November...you do it week 1 or week 2, incorporating it into the already made schedule...It would help the Big Ten teams with the layoff, but what about the SEC teams that were just in Atlanta for the SEC Championship (Or are going to be there...I'm not sure...)?

June 26, 2008  06:56 PM ET

It was really a hypothetical wish list of mine. I think starting the year off with something like this would be cool, imagine a kick off weekend with all those games instead of the cream puff games???

I think the B10 SEC match up would be better, because of the fact that they are so different, that woul make for some exciting games, ala UM UF last winter

PSU and Bama play during the 2010 and 2011 seasons. First matchup is in Bama.
