So, I bet you've heard the news: Baron Davis is going to leave the Golden State Warriors for the Los Angeles Clippers. Now that the Clippers resigned Elton Brand and added Davis, the Clippers are looking to become a force to be reckoned with in the West. With these additions, the Clippers starting lineup should look like this this season:
PG: Baron Davis.
SG: Cuttino Mobley
SF: Al Thornton
PF: Elton Brand
C: Chris Kaman
That is with going with the reports that they will not try to resign Corey Maggette. But still, that should be a pretty solid lineup. Remember, this is the team that just 2 years ago, was one win away from being in the Western Conference Finals. Since then, Sam Cassell has left, and the injury bug has struck hard. So this team does know how to win, even if many people might not think that. They've been talking to Kings PG Beno Udrih too, which definitly couldn't hury.
I think we all need to remember how good of a player Baron Davis is. He is one of the most valuable players in basketball. He may even be the best scoring point guard in the league. He average 22 points and 7.6 assists per game last season. Together with Elton Brand, maybe they could make some Celtic like magic in the West.
So does this addition make the Clippers conference Finals bound? I doubt it, but they'll definitely make a run at the playoffs in the very tough West this season. But there is definitley some hope for LA's other team this season. And that's good enough for this franchise.

If Brand comes back then the Clippers have a chance to make a nice little run. They certainly will give the Lakers a run for there money.
