The Big Deal- Huntelaar to Manchester United? Yes, it could be coming true, for all you Man. U fans it could happen. We did see him at the Euro and I really liked what I saw. He scored against Romania in that third group-stage match and that was the first match he had played. He has been called the "Next Rudd", and I think that is a very fair comparison. The kid is very good and I'm ready to see what he can do in the EPL. He won the Golden Boot for Ajax this past season is the Dutch Eredivisie, and I think he will have a big impact this season for Man. U. Then again the deal has to get done first. And I think it will. Klaas Jan Huntelaar, pack your bags bud.
Big Ups to Chico- Yep, Chico somehow did it. After being cheated out of the first leg of their Colombian Apertura Final, the side somehow survived a late scare and won the match in PK's. The match shouldn't have went to PK's but it did and we'll just save that story for the previous blog. I just want to say congrats and I'm glad that they didn't lose it on that note.
Today's Big Move- It's officially done now. Peter Crouch, one of the tallest strikers in the known world, is officially Portsmouth-bound. Pompey have been rumored to have given $20 million for him but I'm not sure about it. Both sides really get something out of this one. Pompey get a good striker that will score if given field-time and Liverpool get the money that they need to complete a couple of moves. I think Crouch is a good player and this is a good move for Portsmouth. He will score at least 10 goals if he isn't injured and Pompey need that. So, it's a win-win as my old Middle School counselor would say.
There isn't anything to watch today, so please keep your tears down. Actually the thing to watch is the SoccerNation Summer Shootout Tourney. Please hurry up and start your TD's. Thanks and good luck to all. It's been Keeper and I'm out.

The Huntelaar rumour, if true, means that there is a God and he has been listening to me. Sweet! Also looks like Ronaldo might be staying at United. Even sweeter! On the Huntelaar note, check out this hilarious video on youtube. It is not so much the video that is funny (it is just footage of Huntelaar ruining defences' lives) but the rap song dedicated to him that plays over the top in Dutch. Brilliant!

As far as the Huntelaar-Ruud comparision, the thing is that they play totally different styles.
Huntelaar doesn't have the instinct of Ruud, his only main attribute is exquisite finishing, and I'm kind of worried that since he has a lack of skill on the ball, he may flop.
But the again, if we can find a way to give him the ball in the box, its going to be an almost automatic goal

Good blog. Huntelaar is an excellent signing (if it happens of course).

I hate Peter Crouch but if playing for Pompey means more time on the pitch, then good for him.

Huntelaar is on his way out. I wish he had stayed one more yr to play under Van Basten and learn from Bergkamp but i guess 19-yr old Sulejmani will get that honor.
by the way does anybody find it weird that Ajax would spend 16.25 mil Euro on a 19-yr old Serb??
Huntelaar is the perfect addition to Man Utd's offense. With Giggs really becoming old at this point, I expect Park Ji-Sung and Nani to get more playing time (also bc of Ronaldo's recovery due to his surgery). I actually enjoyed Nani's time on the field at the Euro and I believe he'll be challenging for a more reg starting role.
