Derek Lee's Fight | John Robert's Blog

Chris Young was throwing at Derek Lee. Derek Lee would never go after him if he knew it was not thrown at him on purpose. But he knew the pitch was intended to hit him so he had every right to be upset. The Padres pitchers were mad at Sorieno because he watched his homerun fly over the fence the day before. Some pitchers said they would drilled someone else. So with Young that was there way of getting back at the Cubs. Throwing at at Lee was not called for. He intended to try to hit him.Good thing Derek got out of the way quick enough so he did not get plunked in the head and possibly getting injured. Also Young must smarted off to Lee which also made Lee mad. That was not called for when Peavy jumped on Lee's back. I read that Peavy was sucker punching Lee. I watched the replay but and I didnt see nothin so I'm not sure that is true. But Peavy should not of gone after Lee, he should of let one of the Cubs players get control of Lee. Peavy should of grab Young. After they got a hold of Young Derek Lee was done fighting it looked like. But then Peavy jumpd on his back. Hopefully Lee's suspension will not be long (if he gets a suspension which I'm sure he will.) and if he does hopefuly he will return and keep sparking the Cubs and keep getting wins to make a push into the playoffs.
