The Tigers post-season push

I would like to know what everyone else thinks about how we, meaning the Tigers, should approach the oncoming MLB trade deadline.  I think we really messed up this years chances by trading away promissing young arms like Jair Jurjens and Andrew Miller for guys like Edgar Rentaria, etc.  I'm going to assume that you think it would be OK to trade Renteria because he's been terrible, but do you think we should get rid out Sheff and Pudge.  I would really like to see Rodriguez retire a Tiger, but we could probably get some decent players in return if we do it now.  Your thoughts on how we can fix what had turned out to be a dismal season?
