I have been a loyal Shockey fan since his name first appeared on TV when he played for the U. when the Giants drafted him, it was one of the best draft days I ever watched. My friends and I were pumped, we wanted Shockey and the Giants took him. Of course he went on the win rookie of the year, and was selected to the pro bowl. I went out and bought my first Giants jersey #80, and I wore it with pride. I also have 3 children who like me wore their #80 jerseys with their heads held high. I own 3 Shockey jerseys, blue and white, red and white, and his #88 Miami jersey from college. Now their all worth ****, just like my signed 8 x10's, autographed mini helmet, etc.
when Shockey went down with a broken leg, I thought, well there's always next season for the Giants. We know the rest of the story! After we won, the papers couldn't wait to write their editorial about how the Giants don't need Shockey, we won without him, Boss is better, bla, bla, bla. I like Boss, he shows some spark, and yes he has upward potential. But lets, face it, he's no Shockey. Don't forget Shockey may be the best blocking TE in football, which he is very underrated for. Boss can't block like him.
We all know Shockey has a big ego, like most other big game players. He complained when he didn't get passes, didn't want to block as much, etc. All Manning had to do was hold a conversation with Shockey and basically say" we won the Superbowl without you, so just shut the **** up and when you're open I'll hit you. end of story." But because that's not Eli's nature, Jerry Reese had the brilliant idea to trade for a 2nd round pick, and 5th round. Hello, ****, Shockey's worth at least a first round.
I am taking my 6 year old to Giants camp up in Albany. And who was the only player my son wanted to meet?you guessed it, #80. Well, he won't be there. Because he couldn't keep his mouth shut. It killed his ego that the Giants won without him. Get over it ****. Act like a man, a professional, a rolemodel. Not a whiney little ****. I feel sorry for the Saints fans. Shockey will break your hearts as well. especially when he goes down in the 2nd week with an ankle injury. I was crushed when I heard the trade news, and what's even harder to accept is that he is happy going to New Orleans. What a shame!

He's talented. But his selfishness rates only second to T.O. When they don't get the ball, they show it. Many times on national television.
