The Chicago White Sox have acquired Ken Griffey Jr. from the Chicago White Sox, it is official.
Corey Patterson will fill in Griffey's spot in the Cincanati outfield as Griffey goes to a contender.
I don;t think this trade will help out Chicago much. Griffey has been struggling and now the White Sox will have to clear up some room for him. The DH spot is already filled in with Jim Thome and they already have a decent outfield. This may actually hurt the White Sox rather than help them.
It isn't quite clear who the Reds got in return but I'll keep you updated. Danny Richar is the one player that has been traded but it is not sure what the side pieces are.
Reds fans, say good-bye to a future Hall of Famer and in return - you got next to nothing

I got the news from listening to the Tigers game on FSN and ESPN has a full story

Thanks for the update Dawgee. I've been running around all day...and this is the first I heard of it going through.
