You know there is a funny thing about baseball in the Steel city... it is the only sporting event that you can go to wearing the opposing teams gear and not get heckled or booed. I recently got to attend the Pirates vs. the Yankees game in Pittsburgh about a month ago. Over half the stadium rocked Jeter and Rodrequiz gear (myself not included.) Man was I excited to see the Buccos pull one off against one of the best teams in baseball history! Of coarse, when rolling with the Pirates, excitment only lasts so long.
I am talking about the recent Xavier Nady and Jay Bay trade.....
What I can not figure out why winning doesn't seem important to Pirates owners! I understand that the pricetag on big name players is always an issue but sometimes you have to bite the bullet and throw out some cash! If the team was any good then there would ultimately be more money earned! Xavier Nady was one of the best players the Pirates currently have and like that, second inning, he's gone. Why would you trade an incredible player batting a .330 for yet another pitcher... Jason Bay has been a fan favorite in Pittsburgh and an assest to the team for quite some time, its sad to see them go. It just upsets me that everytime the Pirates get a slight rythm going with the team, a trade is made. Let's hope they hold on to Sanchez and McLouth
