After being viciously swept by the Cubs and their overally dominant team, Milwaukee Brewer fans, including me, went into a shell and cried that "all is lost", "no way they go to October now!". All is not lost Brewer fans, there is still 2 months of the season left, and dont forget the Cubs have probably the hardest September schedule of any team, including a 3 game series to end the season in Miller Park.
But that is not what I wanted to talk about today. Today I want to bring up the topic of agressive fans. After reading the new rules on the NFL code of conduct for fans, I decided to share some of my experiences of fans from the Brewer vs. Cub series.
First and foremost, I would like to express my feelings toward fan violence. I believe if you cannot control your emotions enough to watch a game without punching someone or getting in a shouting match with another fan...well, you dont belong at public games.
Anyways, it was the second game of the series, Ben Sheets vs. Carlos Zambrano. I was sitting in the lodge section the entire series, which is the second level up, and still fairly expensive seats, so I didnt expect many two fisted sloppers from either team. But I was very wrong.
It wasnt yet the second inning, when a Cub fan shouted in the ear of a Brewer fan, prompting the Brewer fan to "spill" his beer on the other fan. --- Ok. Security handled that out.
But later, after the game, I was walking out to the parking lot, I was one of the last ones to leave. And Suddenly next to the highway, I see two people beating the living **** out of another guy. Yes, as you can imagine it was two Cub fans punching a Brewer fan. As my buddy and I went running and yelling at them, trying to seperate the fight, the two Cub fans ran away, yelling "Cubs rule, Brewers drool"...WOW. First of all you need a better cheer, what are they in second grade? Second I dont understand why you feel the need to beat someone so much that they have to go to the hospital over a BASEBALL GAME!!!!
Alright, I figured I had seen and heard it all, but apparentley not. I read in the paper and online of all the fans arrested for fights that broke out after the game. One story I read was 5 Brewer fans were robbed and beat up outside of a Bar...no doubt Cub fans the culprits.
I knew Cub fans were dillusional and nuts, I mean how else could you root for a team like the cubs otherwise? But I didnt know they were psychotic, and insane!!! I know I am probably offending the nice and decent Cub fans, and to you I am very sorry, but this has to be brought up.
I have officially decided Cub fans are the worst fans to watch a game with, and the worst to interact with. I mean I can hardly talk to my friends who root for the Cubs about baseball, without them bringing up the fact that the Cubs are better than anyone else.
TO ALL CUB FANS:
Get over youselves...The Cubs are good, we all know that, we dont need you beating people up and reminding them of that. And the fact that you havent won in 100 years should not add to your gloating. I hear fans talk about how its the 100 year anniversary...100 years of losing. You dont need to tell us you are going to win the world series because its destiny and its the 100 year mark of your last win. NO ONE CARES!
Sit down, shut up, and watch how the rest of the season plays out.
I cant wait till I go to Wrigley field. I have seats in the bleachers for friday the 22 (I think). I am waiting to catch a Cub homerun...and I WILL throw it back.

I think it's going to be Brewers Vs. Angels in the series. But on the blog I do agree. My top 2 least favorite fans are Cubs and Red Sox.
When those 2 teams are going good you can't get away from stupid Homers that refuse to believe there team couldn't be the best in the league. But when things are going bad you never see them.

Okay, I don't know about Red Sox fans, because I live in the midwest....but Confucius, you are dead on in regard to Cub fans. You can't get away from their bragging right now, but a couple of years ago when they were 25 out and in last place.........they were no where to be found. The "Loyal" Cub fans come out in droves when the Cubs are playing well.

what kills me about cubs fans is they are constantly bad mouthing the white sox .news flash people , WE PLAY IN THE AMERICAN LEAUGE why do you even care about the white sox? a tad bit of trophy envy........and yes red sox fans are equally as annoying , when your team wins as many rings as the yankees , talk trash, until then shut up and watch the game.

*Disclaimer* I hate the way some "Cubs fans" act, and think that many of them should be thrown in jail. The incidents brought up just reinforce that view. Hell, there are times where I want to knock those pricks out.
That aside, I just LOVE how you are talking about us, when in reality, there have been far, FAR worse things that have happened before. When I last checked, no Cubs fan stabbed and killed a fan of an opposing team, as that one Dodgers fan did to the Giants fan in the parking lot. Nor have we set cheesehead hats on fire while at the game (*cough* Lions fans.) I also seem to recall a drunk dad and his kid attacking an umpire at a Sox game back in 2002. Oh, and let's not forget Malice at the Palace.
What's my point, you may be asking? The point is that fans of ANY sports team can be pricks, and act like kids. It's sad, but it's also the truth. Do not try to make it sound as if it is limited to just Cubs fans. That is not only fallacious, but also insulting and quite frankly a blatant lie.
But of course, seeing as how certain people just LOVE to bash the Cubs and Cubs fans, this will most likely go in one ear and out the other.

Great. Just what we needed...another inflammatory blog about who has the "worst fans". Anyone includes the words "another reason to hate.." is an obvious jerk and is part of the problem. If you want civility, you've got to walk the talk and be civil. Anyone who pours beer on someone at a game or resorts to violence is also a jerk. When fans go to a ballpark named after a beer, consume large quantities of beer and see the home team acting like imbeciles in the dugout (beating on eachother), civility and sportmanship suffer. No need to finger-point here, just take a good look in the mirror.

You're an absolute idiot! DO you realize that the Cubs pitcher, Zambrano, punched out his catcher last year!!!
Fielder just got a little carried away, but he didnt resort to punching his friend in the face!

white sox fans are trash and drug addicts, brewers fans are fat, drunken sconnies with hag wives who dress poorly, smell bad and have bad haircuts.
cubs fans are successful, literate and well-dressed people from the north shore of chicago; sometimes we have to resort to violence to suppress the peasants, wretches, etc.

Pat, my good man, your post was not entirely accurate. Not all Cubs fans are from the fiefdom of North Shore.

Dont get me wrong. I love rich snobby fans, who think they are better than everyone esle, as much as the next guy. But is beating someone up over baseball a smart decision?

I've made the trip to Miller Park for one series each of the last three years and have always had a great time. Actually I got booed/razzed/swore at when I went to Brothers on Water Street after the game. With any fan base there are ****. **** exist in the world. Since the Cubs are a national product (WGN) and in the third largest city we have a large fan base....hence more ****. Its a unique situation in Milwaukee because we can drive just as long to get there as Wrigley and buy half the tickets. I'd be sour too if there wasn't a home field advantage for a big series that didn't go my teams way.

Good blog. I agree with you. I didn't get a chance to go to any of the Brewers-Cubs games this year, but I got a chance to go to one a year ago..and the Cubs fans were absolutely brutal to be there with. It was pretty pathetic to listen to them.
