I have been a die hard Texas Rangers fan my whole life and sometimes I get mad when the management does stupid things.  Here would be my off-season plan for the Rangers:

The Texas Rangers have an offense that is slightly aging because Milton Bradley is getting up there, Josh Hamilton isn't the kid he once was, Michael Young isn't too young either.  We have a great offense now so likewise, we want to win now.  So I would trade our 2008 first round pick, firstbaseman Justin Smoak, to the Minnesota Twins for Pat Neshek.  The Twins have Justin Morneau now but he may want a huge contract sometime and the Twins will not afford it.

My next move would be to swap pitchers with the Detroit Tigers.  I would trade Kevin Millwood to the Tigers for Dontrelle Willis and hope that Willis starts doing as good as he did before 2007.

I would then do everything I could to sign either Roy Halladay or C.C. Sabathia who both have expiring contracts.  If the Rangers could sign one of them, that would put them in great shape.

I would trade Brandon McCarthy to the Philadelphia Phillies for Jamie Moyer.  McCarthy still has some maturing to do and Texas doesn'thave time for that.  Philadelphia would like to swap a guy in his late 30's for a guy who is still in his mid 20's.

I would definitely go after DeMaso Marte if he slips through the Yankees hands.  Marte is one of the better relief pitchers in baseball and he would be a great addition to a terrible bullpen.

My final move would be something to help the offense a little bit.  I would trade thirdbasemen Ramon Vazquez and catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia to the Detroit Tigers for prospect Jeff Larish and catcher/thirdbaseman Brandon Inge.

My lineup would be:

C - Gerald Laird

1B - Jeff Larish

2B - Ian Kinsler

3B - Brandon Inge

SS - Michael Young

LF - Milton Bradley

CF - Josh Hamilton

RF - David Murphy

DH - Hank Blalock

Bench:

OF Marlon Anderson

OF Brandon Boggs

1B Chris Davis

3B Chris Shelton

Pitching

SP C.C. Sabathia

SP Vincente Padilla

SP Dontrelle Willis

SP A.J. Murray

MRP Eddie Guardado

Some of this stuff might not happen but I am just fooling around

good luck, there will be a lot of teams chasing Halladay and CC, and they will be expensive.
