20 The number of first-place votes (20) for UGA in the AP Top 25 college football poll released on September 2. This is almost what Coach Richt was asking for - his team is out of the #1 spotlight. His team fell to #2 in the rankings but not because of a loss, and perhaps that isn't a bad thing.
21 The number of first-place votes (21) for USC in the AP Top 25 college football poll released on September 2. Southern Cal moves up from #3 to #1 in the polls after a convincing 52-7 victory vs. Virginia.
33 The point margin (33) UGA trails USC in the AP Top 25 college football poll. The fall from #1 was a result of the opponents faced by both teams this past weekend.
Notes: The poll could work in favor of UGA. Tuesday afternoon they held what was described by the coaches as a "tough, physical practice."
Coach Richt praised Dan LeFevour, the quarterback for Central Michigan who the Bulldogs will face this Saturday at Sanford Stadium. "If it weren't for what Tim Tebow did last year, everyone would be talking about what LeFevour has done."
That might be overstating it just a bit - but regardless, Coach Richt has the team in great position, and more importantly, he seems to have the team in control of their egos and emotions after all the pre-season hype. There is a lot to look forward to - continuing this Saturday, 3:30 EST.
