Here is a blog by soccer, yeah i know, we all collectively groan at the word, contributor keeper. For those interested, here you go.
Before I even start this blog, I want to state that I am not a MLS Insider. These opinions and possibilities have been solely drawn up by me. Yesterday, I learned that the San Jose Earthquakes would be making a return to the big show of American soccer. Way back when, the Earthquakes were very good with players such as Landon Donovan, Dwayne Derosorio, Craig Waibel, Brian Ching, and Pat Onstad. Three of which are now staples on the MLS Cup Champs Houston Dynamo. The Dynamo are the direct decsendants of the Earthquakes, that is why they have basically the same team. Any way, since San Jose finally got the team that they deserved back, it is now time to decide a new city for both the East and West coast. I will nominate 3 cities for both East and West and explain why they should be named the team. I will then let you, the soccer nation decide just who deserves to be the newest team. After that we will come up with a name for the city, and we will go from there. Toady is the West's turn, tomorrow will be the East's.
Western Conference Nominee #1- Of course, you have to consider a team in the Pacific Northwest. So I nominate Seattle. The baseball and football teams are pretty successful and the basketball is on the way up. The money the city has because of this will help with the building of the stadium. It is just a great sports town. Could you imagine having the soccer equilvalent to Safeco Field. They could play for a couple of seasons in the football stadium and then move to their new stadium.
Western Conference Nominee #2- Another nominee would have to be Salt Lake City, my bad they already have a team, I forgot. The real nominee is Las Vegas, let's face it, it would be great for soccer. This place is growing, growing, and growing more. Not only would you be able to count on the normal population, you could also count on the tourists' dollar. They would need a new stadium, but that shouldn't be much of a problem.
Western Conference Nominee #3- Another great candidate would be Anchorage. No, I am joking, the place for a team is a little bit further south. It is in Vancouver. It would be a nice little place to have a team, they don't have any big teams anymore, so that is a bonus. Plus, a team near or in Canada is greatly needed.
Regardless of where MLS choose to go next, expect it to be a great place for soccer.

I'm from washington and our pro basketball team will be moving out following this year because our state refuses to fund a new stadium. It would be cool to see soccer move up here to the pacific north west but they would never get a stadium built for them alone, and I doubt the Hawks would like them playing at Qwest.
I like the vegas idea, but then again I don't watch MLS only international teams. USA soccer is so far behind the premier leagues it's not watchable, though I will be tunning in to watch Beck's debut, and hopefully his wifes also!
