Vince Young is overrated!! Vince Young is the future of the QB in the NFL!! Durant for ROY in the NBA!!! Oden will be the best big man in the NBA!!! I actually really hate it when people come up with this crap so early in a players career. Most of the time it is before the guy has even played 1 game (Durant, Oden) or its during their first year when they are lighting up the league.

For every guy that has wicked big success in the league as a rookie AND GOES ON TO BE A STAR PLAYER, there are many busts who never live up to the hype. Look at Minnesota in the MLB and Fransisco Liriano. Breakout rookie season, only to be derailed by injuries in his first year. Everyone was pinning the world series hopes with this guy and Santana... but when Liriano went down, so did the twins. Who knows if he will ever come back. Anyone ever hear of a guy named Alexander Daigle? Top pick in the NHL, who basically amounted to a pack of peanuts and a cola. The guy did nothing, but every scout in the league wanted him.

Guys like Oden, Durant and VY are totally unproven. How can you say a guy is overrated when he has been a starter for one year? How can u claim a guy will have a hall of fame career before he even plays a game in the big leagues? I just don't get it. I bet you any money not one scout claimed Michael Jordan would be the best NBA player to ever live when he was at North Carolina. Hell, I bet nobody even said it after his first or 2nd years. Sometimes people burn out. Sometimes people get injured. Sometimes people learn quickly, adapt and progress beyond any best guesses and become a totally better player than anticipated.

I didn't jump on the Lebron bandwagon, but I can admit he is turning into a hell of a player. Am I going to say he is the next MJ ? Of course not, because thats what was said about Penny, Grant Hill and even Kobe. We don't even wanna talk about what happened to the first two. So please guys, lets lay off immortalizing players who have no experience at the major level yet.
