Sure, it's only one week into the season. But there are already some SEC coaches who need to start updating their resumes. Let's see who makes the list as feeling a little (or a lot) of pressure to peform, or lose their job.

HOT
Sylvester Croom, Mississippi State
By all accounts, Croom's fourth season will be his last unless the Bulldogs show marked improvement. Perhaps its unfair to judge his squad against an LSU team considered best in the league and a national title contender, but that's all we have so far. MSU's defense played tough for a half, but the ineptness on offense, especially at the quarterback position, more than offset whatever effort the rest of the team gave.

WARM
Ed Orgeron, Mississippi
Coach O doesn't have much to show for during his two-year tenure in Oxford, except for a lot of "YAW, YAW, FOOTBAW" jokes at his expense. But Ole Miss survived a late scare against Memphis on Saturday, so that keeps Ed off the "Hot" list for now.

LUKEWARM
Phil Fulmer, Tennessee
Vol fans are a bit restless for a contender. The loss to Cal was disappointing, but all is well if Tennessee beats Florida.

Houston Nutt, Arkansas
Last week, I would have put Nutt in the "Warm" list because of all the off-season controversy. But the Hogs posted an impressive win against a decent Troy team, indicating Arkansas may be able to repeat its success from last year. If so, Nutt should be fine, no matter what happens off the field.

Fulmer has the best winning percentage of all coaches that have been in the league for a decade or more...If anyone needs there seat heated, it's John Chavis, the defensive co., who allowed that embarrasing amount of points Saturday.
