Florida has played two lesser opponents so far, with two routs (more or less). Some preseason questions have been answered, but there are still some unknowns headed into the SEC schedule:

WHAT WE KNOW
Tim Tebow is the real deal. He has dominated both games, whether throwing or passing. His passes have been decisive, strong, and on the money, He is a true dual-threat. He's also hard to bring down in the pocket, can escape pressure, and hasn't turned the ball over. What more can you ask?

WHAT WE DON'T KNOW
Can Tebow do it against tougher competition? His receivers have been wide open, for the most part, and Tebow hasn't had to face an SEC-caliber defensive line. When the pressure comes faster, and receivers are covered better, will Tebow rise to the challenge?

WHAT WE KNOW
The Gator defense is talented but inconsistent. They have looked great at times, swarming to the ball and creating havoc in the backfield. They've also looked clueless at times, giving up chunks of yardage and easy scores. LB Brandon Spikes is clearly the linch pin of the defense. He's going to lead the way in tackles as long as he's in the game.

WHAT WE DON'T KNOW
Who else in going to step up and play consistent defense? LB Dustin Doe had another solid game vs. Troy, but has also made some glaring mistakes. Others have made good plays here and there but none are consistently dominating against lesser competition.

WHAT WE KNOW
Special Teams is going to win Florida some ball games this year. Brandon James is a special return man and will consistently give Florida excellent field position, and is a home run threat ever time he gets the ball. Punt blocking seems to be a UF specialty now.

WHAT WE DON'T KNOW
How good UF's new FG kicker and punter are. They haven't had much work, but what we've seen is good. Consistency there, and UF's special teams will be its best ever under Urban Meyer.

WHAT WE KNOW
UF appears to be the best team in the East so far. South Carolina's impressive win at Athens may mean the Gamecocks could challenge for the East, but we're a long way from Atlanta.

WHAT WE DON'T KNOW
Is Tennessee any good? They've struggled in both their games so far, albeit against stronger competition than Florida has faced. Is Georgia as good as they played against Oklahoma State, or as bad as they played against the Gamecocks? The picture will get a little clearer starting next week.

What we do know: Putting Troy on your schedule is a disgrace and you should actually lose points in the rankings for wasting fans time having to sit through these mismatched games.

well, the gators did drop from #4 to #5 in the polls. Putting appalachian state may have looked like a disgrace for michigan, but we all know they can play some football (now)?

What we do know, as a lifelong UT fan, I hate the gators about as much as a person can. But, credit is due, they are good, no matter who they have played. What we don't know is how this game will turn out. Conventional wisdom says all gators all day in the swamp, but in 2001, we were 17.5 point underdogs and snuck out with a win by 2 pts. It's always a great matchup knockn heads with the gators.

Finally, WE DO KNOW THIS... The winner doesn't have a punched ticket to Atlanta, but definately a leg up and an inside track to the Georgia Dome!
