Although Jacksonville Jaguars officials are downplaying concerns about today's home game against the Falcons being blacked out in the local market, it is yet another sign of the team's struggle to remain a viable NFL franchise. After the 2004 season, the team covered up almost 10,000 seats at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium so it could avoid blackouts. The plan worked over the last two seasons, but when 4,000 non-premium seats remained unsold as of Thursday night, the team officially declared its first blackout since 2004. owner Wayne Weaver probably now realizes he lost a chance to generate some significant buzz among his dwindling fan base by not selecting Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn with the 21st overall pick in the draft (the Jaguars went with Florida safety Reggie Nelson instead).

After 12 years of NFL football, JAG fans still want COLLEGE fooball! They have COLLEGE minds, COLLEGE attitudes, and want the NFL quarterback to play like a COLLEGE QB, by having a mobile, COLLEGE QB, not a pocket passing QB.!  NOTE TO JAG FANS: PEYTON MANNING and TOM BRADY HAVE WON FOUR SUPER BOWL RINGS by running their teams offenses by basic pocket QB play @ the highest NFL level!!!!
