FAITHFUL!

Can you believe it? Of course you can, because we know our beloved niners are no punks. What a terrific showing against a team that has had our number in recent years. The Niners, fresh off an emotional win on Monday night against another division rival, the Arizona Cardinals, were largely expected to lose this game the road to a team that has been widely picked as the team to beat in the NFC West.

Our niners showed poise and the maturity to win games. Alex Smith still looks like a hot mess, but he isnt losing games for us, so until he starts moving towards winning games for us, and carrying the team, I cant say if he is truly the man. Frank Gore, the heroic running back, lost his mother last week, and played like a true Champ, scoring a highlight reel TD right through the Lams she-fense. Mike Nolan, while I truly admire him, I strongly question his play calling, which is far too conservative. This is a critical year for this team, and in both games this season, Mike Nolan has chose to play it small as opposed to trying to let his offense grow into the potentially lethal force it has the potential for. Vernon Davis is frustrated that he is not more involved in the offense, as he should be. He is a weapon that most teams do not have an answer for, yet he has not been included in most of our plays, and I think that has to change. The reason we brought in Vernon Davis was to give Alex Smith a toy to be able to grow with and a security blanket to help him build confidence.

However, lets not split hairs. The Niners are 2-0 for the first time since Steve Young's last season in 1998. Frank Gore is scoring TD's looking great, Alex Smith still has a lot of room for growth, but is obviously not regressing, and our defense....WHAT A DEFENSE! FINALLY WE HAVE A PASS RUSH! I am so happy for the great Bryant Young who has been holding it down since our last superbowl win, and now finally has some pieces around him. Im very excited about Patrick Willis who is already the defensive rookie of the year in these blue eyes, and our secondary has been holding it down, we can actually have confidence in our defense to hold a team until our offense can get back on  the field. The mood at Candlestick is definitely changed, and we now are first place in the division since the Cardinals beat the Seahawks on Sunday. Things are looking up!!
