This just in from the not-so-news department: The Yankees have made it to the postseason for the thirteenth consecutive year. That is quite an accomplishment.
As a Red Sox fan I send my heartfelt congratulations to all Yankee fans for their team making the postseason again despite the fact that for the first time in nine years the Yanks will not be winning the division.
The fact that the Yankees are in the postseason year after year is a testament to how good that team is and the fact that George Steinbrenner is willing to spend money is even more of a testament to the talent they have on that team. But gone are the days of the Yankees winning title after title and dominating baseball for long streches of time in much the same way the Boston Celtics dominated the NBA for years and years.
So good luck to the Yanks against Cleveland and hopefully the Sox will see you down the road as both get deeper into the postseason.
