I will be the first to admit the better team won Sunday afternoon. The Dallas Cowboys had no answer to Tom Brady and the New England Patriots recievers. 12 penalties for 98 yards sure didn't help either. But after spotting the Patriots 14 points in the first quarter, Dallas came back to gain the lead early in the third quarter. That lead was short lived though, thanks to Tom Brady completing one of his five touchdown passes. It was all downhill from there for the Cowboys. But let's be realistic about this game. Everyone in the national media has already crowned the Patriots Superbowl champs and started to draw comparisons to some of the NFL's greatest teams. Is it just me or are we still in week 6? Don't get me wrong, The Patriots have been good, really good. But there is plenty of football to play, and since when does the best team in October always win the Superbowl, or even make it to the Superbowl? Just ask the San Diego Chargers about that one.
I have been a fan of the NFL ever since I can remember, and the greatest part about this game for me is on any given Sunday anyone can win. I have seen plenty of teams almost go undefeated, and not even make it to the big game. Two years ago the Steelers played the Colts in the regular season and got dominated by Payton Manning and the Colts. And wouldn't you know, the same two teams met up in the playoffs later that year with the Steelers coming out with a victory on their way to a Superbowl title. And last year, after the Colts went 9-0 they were the clear favorites to win it all, until their run defense decided to go on vacation. After a few games giving up nearly 200 yards a game on the ground no one thought the Colts had a chance. But come playoff time the Colts put away Baltimore, New England and Chicago to win the Superbowl.
Clearly the Patriots have a good team, and it will be hard for any team to pull out a win against them. But if history has taught me anything, it's that no one wins the Superbowl in week 6, and it's anyone's game right now.

I agree that nothing has been won yet, but why do you keep saying they're a good team? The Pats are better than good, there has not been a team as dominate since the 89' 49'ers. The numbers are historic. I know that there is no middle ground here you either love or hate the Pats, but one thing is certain, if you enjoy watching high-caliber football this is the most fun team that I have ever seen.

Report Offensive CommentThe Patriots are a "good" team right now, I don't know if I would put them in the company of the 89' 49'ers just yet though. The numbers they have put up so far has been amazing, but my point is let's see how the rest of the season unfolds before we start comparing them to some of the NFL greats. As history has taught us, it only takes one bad game, or one crucial injury to turn a teams season around. I will agree that the Patriots offense looks incredible, one of the best I have seen. Let's see if they can stay healthy.
