I should start by saying that I am a die hard Buffalo Bills fan. So with that information alone my opinion is not considered an objective view. But I will say that I have bashed the Bill's with the offseason moves. But upon further review I am beginning to be hopeful and understanding of the moves. I think that drive-by observers think that Marv Levy is crazy. He has gotten older but football knowledge is not a disposable skill. McGahee had no intention of resigning with Buffalo following this season and rather than let another premium talent float away for nothing in return other the "why" and "how could you" we traded and recieved value. Clements was a great corner but the money he demanded was outrageous and with team that has many needs that much cap room on a 'shut down' corner seems a bit crazy. A shutdown corner is peice that teams add to put them over the top we are climbing. Takeo Spike is certainly tough to swallow but a 30 year old Linebacker with bad achilles is something you have to considered. London Fletcher hurts no doubt. But these needs we have adressed in the Draft and this brings me to my point. I like Lynch. He turn the PAC-10 apart and will fit well. But I think that the steal of the Draft was Paul Pusloszny. In five years people will be running stories on how did he drop that far. He will be the corner stone to this young and fast defense. His measurable hurt him but the results he has produced in the Big Ten over the last three years cannot be argued against. He loves the game He lives for football and that is what is going to show. Marv Levy said "Talent without character will lose." We drafted the character of our defense and possibly our are team. Pusloszny is the one "they' will be talking about and not the ones we let go.

I am pretty disappointed that the Bears didn't pick up Poz with the 31st pick in the 1st round. I didn't think he would drop that far and--unlike other Bears fans--I didn't think he would last until thet 37th pick. Good move by Levy to trade up & pick up Poz.

Mark my words. Poz will be defensive rookie of the year. He will have a better year then Patrick Willis and will MOST definatly have a better year and carrer then John Beason and Laurence Timmons. When all is said and done and Poz retires and we look back at his NFL career it will be alot like his collger career at Penn State. Very very productive. When will scouts ever learn that measurables mean NOTHING!!! (see Dameco Ryans) It's how you play the game and how much you love the game. Nobody plays the game better, loves the game more or works harder then Poz. The Bills did get the steal of the draft and do in fact have the cornerstone of their defense for years to come.

Another sterling draft by Levy. He starts with a job description for each position to let the scouts know what type of players fit the scheme used by the Bills. The draft board is prepared accordingly, and then he follows the board. Lynch and Poz were the two players most coveted by the Bills. Edwards had a high second round grade. In addition to the best LB ever produced by Penn State it is fitting that the old Harvard grad took a RB from Berkley and a QB from Stanford.
