WOW finally after years of cheering I see my team with a number beside their basketball team this year. This moment has been long awaited for, and was expected when Bob Huggins came to town. But little did I know it would be this soon, especially since the jerk left. Thats another story though and I'm over it. We have just as good of a coach in Frank Martin any way. With Michael Beasley around it has opened some eyes. I don't necessarily want to talk about him or the other highly rated Bill Walker. I want to talk about the other half of the team, because everyone knows two people can't win a basketball game... Returning point guard Clent Stewart will be back and able to lead the team. Lead returning scorer David Hoskins will be back as well. Not enough can be said about Hoskins either. He has everything a coach could want: scoring, rebounding, driving, pull up jumper, and eyes for the assist. The only thing that could make him even better is to grow 2 or 3 more inches, but thats not attainable. Clent Stewart is out right now with a pulled hamstring, but is expected to be back before thanksgiving, and David Hoskins is out with a sprained ankle and has been practicing since last Tuesday. Neither of them played in the exhibition game Saturday so without any experience on the court we were able to put up 95 points, thats saying something. Blake Young is also returning, although I have not been extremely impressed with Yound he somehow finds a way to score and gets the coaches attention. But the one person I was extremely impressed with in the exhibition game was Jacob Pullen. He has so much speed I would compare him to Darrell Arthur from ku. He even has a very good looking shot, I would look for him to lead the team next year at point gaurd when Clent Stewart leaves. There are a few more recruits that I have not mentioned but I just was not able to see them play enough to judge exactly what their strenghts are. All-in-all I am extremely pumped for this upcoming basketball season. With Beasley and Walker leading and the rest of the supporting cast I am expecting great things.
