In response to:
McNabb: 'I'm not fully to blame'
While Donovan McNabb said he had been part of the problem during the Eagles' worst first-half start of his tenure as the starting quarterback, he still believed he had received too much blame. "Again, it's easy to blame a quarterback when the team loses," McNabb said. "But I'm definitely not the whole reason why we lost these games. Can I help? Yes, I can, but I'm not fully to blame for everything that goes on around here. I'm a piece of the puzzle. And when the puzzle is put together, then we'll have success."
Theoretically, you are right Mr. McNabb. Football is a team game, and it takes a team effort to win games. It is not your fault that your coach is distracted by his family issues, and that those same issues are now said in the same breath as the words Philadelphia Eagles. No, Donovan that is not your fault.
What is your fault is that you cannot handle criticism. I know you were booed heavily on draft day by fans who preferred Ricky Williams (Do you still want Ricky, Eagles fans) and that you had to endure some harsh criticism from Rush Limbaugh over the fact that you are an African-American quarterback. Even your mom got criticized for doing the Campbell's soup commercials with you because you complained over the fact that they had an actress playing you mom in a commercial (yes, the first Campbell's soup commercial had an actress playing Mama and he took offense to that). I understand that you grew up in a Chicago suburb that wasn't accepting to you or your family. I understand that your home was vandalized a couple of times when you were young, but at the same time you need to get over it and yourself.
Donovan you play Quarterback. A position that is the face of the team, and the assumed leadership position of the team. As the team goes so do you. So, if the team struggles it is going to be seen as your fault. When will you learn that? Also, when will you learn that statements like "I'm not fully to blame" only take away from your play on the field and your legacy as a player and make you look more like the whiner you have so far portrayed yourself to be.

I agree, its like when the colts lost out in the playoffs like 5 years in a row. People were saying Manning is not an elite QB because of it. The QB is going to either get the blame or the praise, and for a team that is as talented as the eagles to be losing it HAS to be somebodys fault.

Never let them see you sweat Donovan, and you let us see you sweat. I overlooked the locker room mess with T.O because well, it was T.O. You lost control of your team then, and its supposed to be your team right? I guess its only your team when things are going well though, huh? Man up dude, and stop making excuses! I love you but your really starting to test me!

The problem with Donovan saying it's not his fault is that if they where 6-3 or 7-1 he would be all over the place taking the credit. McNabb needs a change of scenery. Philly is done with him and by the sounds of things he is done with Philly.

I did not even mention the T.O. thing in the blog because I thought he handled the whole thing wrong. He should have put Owens in his place himself, instead of going through others.

Yep. It's time for him to shut up and put up. I think all the events you've mentioned along with the difficulty of playing in Phila. has taken it's toll. I'd hate to say it but it's time to move on.

I think he is gone, Oso. I'm not so sure going home to Chicago and the Bears would help him out though. I think that might put more pressure on him then playing in Philly already has.
He needs a market that isn't so harsh on their athletes. Off the top of my head I think Miami wouldn't be a bad landing spot for him. Trent Green should retire and Cleo Lemon and John Beck aren't Donovan McNabb.

I agree with Beer Boy.
If the Eagles were 7-1 right now or even 4-4, he would be all over ESPN about how he is leading his team to a world championship.
Sadly Donovan, you ARE to blame for a good part of the Eagles failures.
Your job as quarterback is to lead your team - not to mention your offense to wins.

Quarterbacks tend to get too of the credit when they're team wins and too of the blame when they lose, whether that be fair or not. With that being said I was willing to give Donovan a pass with the T.O. situation that team got ripped apart by T.O. and there was seemingly nothing McNabb could do. But now, I have to give him most of the blame. He's the teams unquetioned leader, and it should be Donovan's responisibility to get that team together and let them now that the Reid situation shouldn't affect the way they play, he hasn't done that at all it seems. He just hasn't been a leader at all. Time for a change of scenery

I can't quite put my finger on his problem. McNabb is a talented quarterback, but that doesn't mean he has the head for it. I think he'd be much better off if he'd just shut up. With the money these guys get paid, noone cares about your whining anyway.

Good thought JHova
I think somewhere like Miami would be a great place for him.

toxic situation. instead of saying "i've got to better" or "i take full responsibility" he deflects blame. his teammates must love it.....NOT.
