If it wasn't for Ben Roethlisberger, the Steelers' special teams would be explaining how it is they lost a game for a team that completely dominated its opponent in every other aspect of the game. That's why they refer to the special teams as a winning edge. It almost won Cleveland a game it had no business winning.

That game was almost EXACTLY like the Bills Dolphins game at the end, except yours was higher scoring.

Both games had:

-The team w/ the worse record down by 3 pts in the final minutes
-Losing team had no timeouts left
-Losing team couldn't get out of bounds.
-I even noticed this: both teams got to midfield with about 45 seconds left.

Only differences were the Browns spiked the ball more often, and while CLE went for a FG, the Dolphins went 4 and out.

The Chargers ONLY beat the Colts because of SPECIAL TEAMS, so yes, you are correct, this aspect of the game can be a huge winning edge cuz the Chargers O last night STANK!
