Normally, I don't engage in deception nor do I get up on my soapbox for television program that aren't called "The Wire." But, this case is extraordinary. I want you to tell all your friends to watch "Life" on NBC next Monday (after "Heroes") and Wednesday (at 10PM EST). It's a 2-part story arc so it's nice place to jump in. If you're hooked, and I know you will be, check out NBC.com to watch the previous episodes. I am not exaggerating when I say that this is the most extraordinary new show of the season. It's well-written and extremely well-acted. The stories are interesting even though, on the surface, it's a straight police procedural. But it's the best kind. If you don't like that, watch for the use of music, the best since "Homicide" for poignancy. You will not be disappointed. And, even if you don't like it, you'll help to save a show that doesn't need to go away. So consider that among your good deeds for the day.

So I'm inline with what this blog is supposed to be all about: England should hire Fabio Capello even though I think they're leaning towards José Mourinho. I'm not strictly opposed to Mourinho but I do hate all things Chelski and he's still stained by Roman Abramowich's rubles.

Also, the Raptors looked good tonight. They looked like everything they're supposed to be. I'm waiting for official word on the Bosh and Bargnani injuries and hoping neither is severe. I suppose I should have more to say about the game but, hey, it was the Grizz. I do question why they aren't playing Mike Conley. Is he hurt? Yes, I'm too lazy to look that up right now.

So go watch "Life." You won't regret it.
