Well first off, I should list the BCS Bowl Pairings in an easier light than that crappy show on Fox did....
BCS National Championship: OSU-LSU
Rose Bowl: USC-ILL
Sugar Bowl: HAW-GA
Fiesta Bowl: OK-WVA
Orange Bowl: VT-KU
And throw in the only Non-BCS or New Year's Day Bowl I care about...
Alamo Bowl: PSU- TEX. A&M
Now for the thoughts....
BCS National Championship: OSU-LSU (Was I expecting these midway through the season? Yes. Beginning of November? Yes. A loss to Ill. and Ark. by these teams change that much? No! So will the layoff kill OSU once again...or will Tressel have his team historically ready than any previous OSU team. And Miles killing the coaching distraction? Expect two PREPARED teams...unlike last year ugh choke OSU ugh choke. We are past that though, and I refuse to give score predictions for bowls (some stupid thought of mine). So who do I want to win? Simple, the Big Ten team in OSU. Who do I think will win? Unless it goes into 3OT where the Tigers are 0-2, I have to go with...Ohio State. I just can't see them losing after last year's debacle...feel free to debate it, because I still am internally...)
Rose Bowl: USC-ILL (Ill. in a BCS game with 3 losses. Yeah, lots wrong with that sentence. More than you can imagine...for example Mizzou beat them head to head, had one less loss, and beat a #1 team at a neutral site. Well Ill. beat a #1 team on the road obviously harder, but can you see past the first two stats? The Rose Bowl sure did, and they say it's tradition. I say it's money, and the fact that who the heck wants to see Mizzou in a BCS bowl? (That question is not aimed at any tiger fans...) So for the prediction...if USC has their full arsenal on offense and defense, this will be a repeat of last year's Rose Bowl. Blow sore? (Yes I mixed up Rose Bowl to get blow sore, and I know it doesn't make sense...) I think USC is tough to beat. Just ask Stanford...But if Juice Williams and J. Lehman lead the attack for the fightin? Ok now I'll stop kidding around. USC will win close or blow 'em out. Either way, they will win.)
Sugar Bowl: HAW-GA (Is Hawaii as deserving as Boise St. was last year of a BCS Bowl? I don't think so. Personally I think last year's Hawaii team was better than this one. No contest here whatsoever! Georgia furious at not getting into the Championship and Brennan feels it for a while. Stafford, Moreno, and the Dawgs kick A**!)
Fiesta Bowl: OK-WVA (Finally a bowl that just has two outright conference champions. Good. West Virginia has shown to be too vulnerable. Oklahoma a little, but not so much. Because of the way West Virginia played in their last BCS game, a 38-35 victory over the Dawgs, and the final should never have been that close. But West Virginia was one failed fakepunt attempt from basically losing that game, so I can't comfortably pick them. But could I comfortably pick a team that lost to Texas Tech...Hell yeah! I can. The Sooners take the Fiesta the second time around, while the dazed Mountaineers will still be drooling over their missed title oppurtunity.)
Orange Bowl: VT-KU (Anyone can argue that Mizzou belongs here...See Rose Bowl thoughts. But they are not here either so I really don't care. Sorry Mizzou, don't get killed by Oklahoma twice. Va Tech will be emotionally charged, and KU will be like the little kid walking out onto the field after being on the bench so long with a huge game on the line. KU will wake up after it's too late just like they did against Mizzou, and they will lose. Sorry Jayhawks.)
Again only Non-BCS or New Year's Day Bowl I care about...
Alamo Bowl: PSU-TEX. A&M (Yes PSU is one not blown 17 pt. game against MSU from a sunny Capital One Bowl in Orlando. But let's be fair, and like I said about Mizzou, they are not there so too bad. Don't blow second half17 pt. leads to Michigan State. Well Sherman coaching his first game in a while at any collegiate level, compared to JoePa's 500th? If the Tex. A&M team that beat Texas 38-30 shows up against the PSU team that beat Wisc. 38-7, who do you think would win? And if the Tex. A&M team that lost to Tex. Tech 35-7 shows up against the PSU team that lost 37-17 to the #1 team in the nation now and then, who do you think would win? I hate to give the nod to PSU because of people yelling at my bias (which I can honestly tell you I don't have here), but argue that logic, and then we shall talk. PSU in a close one.)
More on the other bowls to come....

AE: "I just can't see them losing after last year's debacle."
Not so fasts, my friend. See also: Oklahoma, 2003 & 2004.
Missouri totally deserves the bid over Kansas, and as a big12 fan I'm a little pissed that the stronger team isn't going in As it is, who wants to play VaTech this year? It would just be not very nice to defeat a team from a community that's been through what they have.
Great blogs all season, AE.
ps. How the hell did you get paired with A&M? I didn't even know A&M was bowl-eligible. Take the home crowd out of the game and that one shouldn't even be close.

I hope being treated like Florida was last year will inspire the Bucks to play like Florida did last year.

I agree.. I think Coach Rod is going to have his hands full getting the nasty taste of PITT out of his player's mouths and hungry for a win in the Fiesta.

I think the best game will be the Fiesta Bowl this year. Two high powered offenses facing against each other and like TO said, "Getcha popcorn ready." This one's gonna be good.
Not sure I understand the logic of Georgia going from four to five after having a bye week. I personally believe there is no reason why they shoudn't be in the BCS Championship. I think LSU has earned it more, but Georgia was in line to become the No. 2 team in the country, now they lost a rank. Yet another reason we need a playoff system in college football imo.

Sooner Girl, as much as we banter back and forth to each other, do not insult my beloved Aggies more than they deserve, or have already earned. We won more games than yours and my favorite "40 year old man) coach in Stillwater. We fire our coach for 7-5, and Okie St. extends there coach after 6-6.
FYI, Sherman will not coach this game. He his sticking with the Texans. Gary Darnell (D-Coordinator) is serving as the interim head coach for the bowl, and he will probably delegate the offensive play calling to the O - staff, which is good news for us.
As an Aggie (though not a homer), if PSU lines up on D and hits us in the mouth, it will be a long game. PSU does not have the speed necessary to scare us. But they are big, and if they hit us enough, I think that we will wilt under the pressure. It happens to often, I am sorry to say. However, if we can jump out to a big lead like agains the 'horns, we can dictate play selection enough to not allow PSU to become one-dimensional on D.
We will have to score 30 points. Our D is not good enough to shut down PSU, period.
My guess, if I had to bet the house, PSU over A&M 27-22. But I really think this will be a good game to the end...

"Who wants to see Missouz in a BCS game?"
.....I'd rather see them than Illinois but whatever, as long as the Trojans win as you predict!

I havent' seen PSU this year. Like the Aggies they are unranked. Sagarin ranks PSU 31 and the Aggies 38.
PSU's overall defense is ranked 9th in the NCAA. Rush defense is 4th. Aggies are not going to hurt anyone passing.
I don't see the Aggies winning this one.

Ohio State has NO CHANCE! just like one of FLA's players said last year, there are 5 SEC Teams better that Ohio State. If the Buckeyes played the comptetion that is in the SEC all year, they would be lucky to win 3 games

Don't complain too loudly about Illinois getting into a BCS bowl. Because of the split between all conference teams and the huge guaranteed payout by the BCS bowls, it puts over $1 million into the athletic programs of each of the Big Ten universities (including Penn State, of course). I know that the oddsmakers have the Fighting Illini listed as 2 touchdown underdogs already, but we were even bigger underdogs going into Columbus last month. This could be a really exciting game.

I don't think it was completely the layoff that undermined the Bukeye's in the National Championship, but they are known to have a weak schedule almost every yeat and that may be their down fall.
I agree that Missouri deserves to be in a BCS bowl much more than Illionois despite Illi beating Ohio State on the road. Missouri is just a better team.
The Dawgs will win over Hawaii. Hawaii just isn't used to the type of teams they will face in BCS bowl games and although Brennan is a great quarterback Hawaii will not be able to beat a better and more tested team in Georgia unless the coach comes up with an ingenius game plan.
The Oklahoma vs. West Virginia may be the best game out of these. Both teams have playerd well at times and poorly at others. If Oklahoma can force Pat White to make mistakes and keep him contained then they should have this game in the bag.
Based on the way Virginia Tech has been playing recently, I feel confident about them in this game. Kansas is another team that had an easy schedule. The only differences between them and Hawaii are that Kansas had a harder schedule and Kansas actually lost.
I'm not sure what to say about the Penn State bowl game, but I would rather have PSU win that game. I don't particularly care about it, though.
Good blog, though.
