Whew!! What a game it was. So far, I had seen Patriots winning games which they were suppose to loose. There are so many (such games) over the years and a couple this year (COLTS, EAGLES). But I had never seen them win a game they had lost completely (almost??). WOW what an effort it took from Brady and the perfect Patriots when everything went just right for Ravens... (Well Almost again...sadly).
The setting was just right for a great upset yesterday in Baltimore. The great fans, the Ravens team(Ray Lewis, Willis McGahee, Chris McAlister, Kyle Boller, Ed Reed(?)), Don Shula and other Dolphins with their champagne, the sports commentators, fans of PATRIOTS who watched in disbelief for the first 3 quarters how their team played, everybody !!!! But when the game ended.... same story repeated!! PATRIOTS WON AGAIN!!!!
This time though we know for a fact, Pats won a game that they had lost !!!! This is why they say "Fortune favors the brave" I think. Ravens fans said "Refs favors Pats".
At the end of the game yesterday, I was overwhelmed by the fact that Patriots won but was feeling sorry for Ravens efforts but in the morning today when I look back, I just saw couple of points which made the win a possibility for Pats in a not so close game really.
1. Patriots stopped Ravens offence three times in the 4th quarter and forced them to punt when it mattered most.
2. Pats held McGahee for no gain many times late in the game
3. Kyle Boller threw an interception which was unnecessary !
4. Kevin Foulk strip sacked Ed Reed when all Ed Reed had to do was to sit on the ball.
5. Brian Billek blowing kisses to Rodney Harrison which must have taken a lot of concentration out of him which might have set the stage for the dead timeout later in the defining moments of the game.
6. Ravens players( only couple of them though) who could not handle the pressure situation and breaking down towards the end of a game they had won really but never believed so.
7. Patriots players who have a lot of experience to be patient in those pressure situations.( I can not admire enough, the patriots players who tackled the "hail Mary" Boller threw at the end of the game two yards short of touchdown line. They clearly never wanted to be called for pass interference at that time.)
8. Bill Bellichick remaining super cool.
9. TOM BRADY achieving the impossible in the real last drive of the game.
10. Funny enough, there was a talk of DYNASTY of PATS from some ESPN commentators before the game. Nobody even accepted this fact out side of New England when the season ended last year!!!!
All said and done!! PATRIOTS 12-0.
Bring it on Steelers, Jets, Dolphins, and Giants. Let's play ball!!!

It helped that the refs gift wrapped them a call on a 4th down pass to the end zone; illegal contact. Merry Chrismas, Pats fan. I believe the Steelers will take care of the undefeated run next week. Just a hunch.

Actually, that last Pats touchdown SHOULDN'T have counted. On replay, see how Jabar Gaffney juggles the ball before he goes out of bounds. (The official on the field DIDN'T see it.)
But, to be honest, the Ravens brought it on themselves by NOT staying focused the last 4 minutes.
That's all.
