Well, the Cards didn't choke like I predicted in my previous post, but the Dodgers and the Padres made it leaving the Phils to come up short. The best part of the season is about to start this Tuesday and the first round series' look to be rockin.
Let's start with the NL.
Mets vs. Dodgers
The Mets are taking on the banged up Dodgers. Though the Mets are lacking their prime time starter in Pedro, the Dodgers are also likely missing a top starter in Penny, and along with Nomar all dinged up and Kent not at 100% things kind of even out. Who exactly is 100% at this point in the season anyhow? I'll take the Dodgers in five.
Padres vs. Cardinals
The Cardinals avoided a monumental choke and look to be walking into a hot Padres squad, but I think the Padres are going to be the ones choking in the post season. I just don't think they have the team to go far or make it past a Cardinals squad that has the game's best hitter in Albert Pujols. Really, I just don't want the Padres making it past the Cards so they don't face the Dodgers since the Padres owned the boys in blue this season.
I'll write about my AL predictions tomorrow.
