The day has come that every Oriole fan has dreamed of. 12/12/07 is now one of the best days in recent Orioles history.
Miguel Tejada has just been traded to the Houston Astros for 5 players. These players are Luke Scott, Matt Albers, Troy Patton, Dennis Sarfate, and Michael Costanzo. The deal was the first of many made by the new Orioles' President of Baseball Operations Andy McPhail. I, and many other O's fans hope that this isnt the last. He was able to do what other could not do; find a good deal for the whining Miguel Tejada.
This deal brought me joy and came at the best possible time.... I was at the White Marsh Mall on Sunday picking up my Troy Smith Ravens jersey and my Troy Smith Draftday Bobblehead..., any way.. I was in the Finishline store waiting for the guy to get down my jersey.. So, i turn around and start going through the circular rack of Orioles shirt behind me. To my disgust, every shirt was Miguel Tejada's. This absolutely enraged me that a player who is supposed to have been the guy to make this team win again, but hasnt, has his jersey on every damn rack of the store. Guys like Nick Markakis, Erik Bedard, and Brian Roberts deserve this attention more that Tejada. Tejada complains that we arent winning... thats funny.. considering he has screwed us over time and time again...
So, Miguel Tejada, go on to another struggling franchise in Houston. Have fun. Screw them in the **** also. I dont care what you do there. You are completely erased from my memory.
