Well I got two out of four correct in the Division League Series having picked the A's and the Cardinals. My two favorite teams let me down as the Yankees got their walking papers handed to them by the Tigers and the Dodgers got swept under the loser mat by the Mets. I'm still going to be watching all the games because this is still October baseball. Tommy Lasorda would be proud.

Tigers vs. A's

The Tigers look like the team to beat after demolishing the best line up in the baseball and man handling the Yankees pathetic pitching staff. On the other side of the coin, the A's swept the team everyone was hemming and hawing about and did it by playing solid fundamental baseball. The A's aren't a flashy bunch, they are actually a little rough around the edges, and I like that in a team. They got the monkey off their collective backs by finally closing out a playoff series and they have one of the greatest hitters in the modern era in Frank Thomas. Say what you want about the guy, but he can still smash with his Louisville Slugger. The Tigers have an ace up their sleeve and I'm not referring to any of their hot flame throwers. I'm talking about manager extraordinaire Jimmy Leyland. That guy is a winner and he doesn't back down from a fight. This one could easily go seven and I think it will. I'm calling heads and taking the A's as I think they have the better team and the better team always wins out in the end.

Cardinals vs. Mets

I'm going with the masses on this one and taking the Mets. They're a better team by far and will continue to show it in the NLCS. The Cardinals are a shadow of themselves from the past two or three years. They have the best hitter in Albert Pujols but that's not going to be enough to get past a deep Mets ball club that seems destined for The Series this Fall. I'm taking the Mets in five.

Like Tommy says, get to your televisions and watch some playoff baseball!
