On Sunday, the Patriots continued their 14 game win streak in a 20-10 victory over the Jets at Gillette Stadium A.K.A. the razor. In near perfect football weather (cold, wet, icy & miserable) it came down to a ground game and Lawrence Maroney and Kevin Faulk managed to produce in a season where the mere thought of running the ball has been hard to come by.

The biggest mistake of the game came on the first Patriots denesive play, early in the first quarter when Richard Seymor, in a move that is closer to a pile-drive rather than a tackle, took out Jets starting QB Kellen Clemens in what appeared to be a dislocated shoulder. Clemens got the ball away only to be intercepted by Eugene Wilson and returned, albeit from the 5 yard line. It for a touchdown.

The Patriots performance looked more like a practice than a game. While many of the Patriots players like Bruschi denied it, the Patriots gave the appearance of resting their players a little bit in an effort to conserve energy for the post season. A 16-0 season might be nice, but a 4th Superbowl would be better. Even with a toned-down appearance, it never seemed as if the game was getting away from the Patriots.

Chad Pennington almost looked halfway decent in his comeback but his 186 yard performance was not enough to spearhead any sort of a Jets comeback for the game. On the other side, Tom Brady was a non-factor in the game throwing for only 140 years, no TDs and this 6th pick of the season. Brady needs 5 more passing TDs to eclipse Peyton Mannings single season touchdown record. Neither of those games are going to be in perfect weather and conditions. It is doubtful that Brady cares much about the record, and if he does certainly would never say so, but for us fans it would be nice. Tom has Gisele Bündchen for comfort, fans do not.

With the no-longer-winless Dolphins up next week, and a much weaker Giants in week 16 thanks to Shockey being out for the rest of the season it looks as if the Patriots will roll effortlessly to a 16-0 perfect season. Fingers will remain crossed, lucky beard is still growing and my trustworthy good luck 54 jersey remains at the ready.

Trust me the weather won't be much of a factor against the phins. I spoke with the weather gods and have been told that it will be in the 40's at gametime with only a 10% chance for any precipitation.
Bady should throw 5 TDs with 4 going to Moss breaking both records and anything the following week against the G-men is just icing on the football cake.
Pats 42- phins 17
