Well, there is so much to say about this charismatic young man.  He wins Super Bowls, does Visa commercials with his lineman, and is a lucrative GAP model.  What more could you want if you were looking for a poster boy?  Nothing.  He is the man. 

But if we take closer look at what Tom Brady has done, we will see that he is nothing more than a 6^th round draft pick who excels at handing the ball of and throwing screen passes.  He throws screen passes and five yard outs to his excellent receiving core, led by Troy Brown and Deon Branch.  These receivers in turn, catch the ball, run past fallen defenders and score 80+ yard touchdowns.  Great run guys, but remember Tom Brady gets all of the glory.  “What a great pass!” announcers exclaim, “That Tom Brady is really something,” they declare. 

For example, let’s look at the infamous snow bowl against the Oakland Raiders.  Brady had a great day in the snow throwing for 312 yards, and even more impressing was that he had 52 attempts.  I bet if I threw the ball 50+ times I would throw for 300+ yards, but I’m not Tom Brady so it probably wouldn’t happen.  Brady is the best ever right?  But what about the tuck rule? (which was a conspiracy by the way). Brady fumbled the ball and you know it!  The game was over, Tom Brady would have fallen off of the face of the planet and probably ended up like Kerry Collins somewhere drinking his sorrow away. 

But no, the tuck rule was invented and Brady had a new life.  He courageously drove his team down the field and sat back to watch as his kicker Adam Vinatieri kicked the Patriots into overtime.  Of course luck of the Brady struck and the Patriots won the coin toss (it was a double sided coin, Brady cheated), and the Pats got first crack at winning the game in a flawed OT system.  Brady’s first pass and longest of the drive was a 21 yard screen pass to running back J.R. Redmond.  I guess Brady is the best thing since sliced bread!  He can successfully back pedal and throw the ball seven yards to a wide open running back, then watch him run for another 20+ yards.  But the key point in that game came when Oakland’s defense stopped the Pats dead in their tracks and held them to a field goal.  Oakland head coach John Gruden calls a time out and gives the Pats time to clear the snow off of the field, giving Vinatieri another chance at saving the day.  Like Vinatieri always does, he came through and Brady got all of the credit. 

They advanced to the Super Bowl to play Kurt Warner and the greatest show on Turf.  Brady had a great game throwing for 145 yards and one touchdown (equaling his defense in the TD column).   He is a good passer, not a great passer, let’s leave it at that.  For all of you out there, who think he is underrated, think again, he is the most overrated quarterback in the league.  He will not win another Superbowl, however he does have a chance to win more playoff games, playing under Belichick, the definition of football a genius.  Tom honestly, go do another GAP ad and call it a career with football OK? 

 P.S. - How does Belichick let Brady do GAP commericals?  Belichick is such a raw guy, I just can't see how he approves that kind of nonsense.
