Where was he or she from, and what else could they have seen in their lifetime?

It's the 100th Anniversary of the last World Series won by...the Chicago Cubs.
Nineteen Oh Eight.
A century ago.
The Model T, Mother's Day, and the first mass-produced washing machine were all invented that year.
Bronco Nagurski was born in 1908, and wouldn't play for the Bears for another 22 years.
In 1908 the Cubs won 99 games and beat the Detroit Tigers 4 games to 1 to become World Champions with players like Mordecai "Three Fingers" Brown, Orval Overall, and Wildfire Schulte.
They had that Tinker to Evers to Chance double play thing.
The
worst ERA of any of the five starters was Chuck Frasier's
2.27.
Impossible, right?
They were the cat's meow, the bees knees, the baddest team in baseball.
And then in 1909 they...didn't win the series, and haven't won it since.
Anyway, back to the Last Cub Fan Alive To See The Cubs Win It All.
I think I might have that person speak to us from the grave every now and then...
Tell us what it was like in 1908.
To help me, I'll use the usual online suspects, but the thing that's inspiring me is this book my mother in law gave me:
"The Cubs" by Glenn Stout.
It's gorgeous.
