Someone must like me real bad. Otherwise, how am I able to write in a group I didn't create??
Regardless of how I got this new responsibility, I'll soldier on in this place.
It's a new year, and Speedweeks come in about 4 or 5 weeks from now. So, there's not much to write about--unless you're bored out of your skull.
So instead, I'll just count the days until Joey Logano turns 18. That's when he'll step into a Nationwide (formerly Busch) Series car for Joe Gibbs Racing. I wrote a piece on him on my own NASCAR blog, but for the benefit of those of you in this group I'll just hit the highlights.
Racing in the Hooters Pro Cup @ 13; won a championship there (I think) @ 15 and signed a driver-development deal with JGR; won the 2007 Busch East title @ 17. And, to top it off, won the Toyota Showdown in October @ Irwindale, CA against the best in the Busch East and West series. (I watched the tail end of that. He's for REAL. Don't let anyone kid you.)
I'm not this kid's press flack, but when he comes to Nationwide, he will make people stand up and take notice. Man, I can not wait for him to get here.
Well, I did MY part. I got to write someplace where my ability is appreciated. And, you know what?? I like it.

I have never heard of this Joey Logono, but it sounds like it is a name to watch....always need a new crop of racers to keep it going for the future.
