Thought the NFL Fan Club was dead? Didnt have any clue who was running the place with ravensfan gone?

No, the NFL Fan Club aint dead, it was just in hibernation during the offseason. It has been under the control of myself, Mac and Detroitfan -- not that we've done much. lqtm.

Anyway, as you see in the title of this blog, there's something in here about the outlook of the upcoming 2008-2009 NFL Season. This is something I came up with prior to the NFL Draft and Detroitfan agreed with vehemently.

The NFL pre-season begins on August 3rd, 2008 with the Indianapolis Colts facing off against the Washington Redskins at 8 PM ET on NBC. What we would like to do before the season begins is have a group-wide co-op looking ahead to the upcoming season. That meaning, we'd like a FanNation user who is a member of this group to represent a respective NFL team with a blog. The blogs would commence on the day of August 3rd, and conclude on September 3rd, one day before the NFL regular season kicks off with the Washington Redskins taking the field to fight the defending champs, New York Giants. There'd be one blog per-day, giving the NFL Fan Club some nice activity and fellow FanNation users something to look forward to daily whether at work or lounging around the house eating Cheetos.

The contents of that blog, you ask?

It would contain an overview of their 2007-2008 season, regular and if available, post season. And then outline their offseason moves and any major news that will effect their fresh start in 2008. And of course, a prediction of what they may do this year.

Format the blog any way you like, but at least have it in logical order, like:

Intro

- 2007-2008 Seasonal Overview

(transition)

- Offseason Moves and News

(transition)

- Outlook and Predictions for 2008-2009 season.

Conclusion

Note: Transition -- Allowing author to add their own creativity and writing skills to make the blog flow from section to section.

How Do I Sign Up?

Just comment. You know the 32-NFL teams, if you want to represent and write for a team comment in the comment section of this blog stating your name and the team you'd like to have.

Dont worry, these blogs dont need to be epic and send everyone into a state of awe. But it'd be nice that if anyone who wants to write puts effort and does their best to have a respectable piece of writing; I mean hell, it's your team you're writing about, show them some love by producing a solid post.

If you show up and the team you would have wanted to write about is already taken, and you dont feel like taking anyone else, go ahead and pick them in the comments anyway. Why? Because someone is bound to drop out, you'd be an insurance policy.

If you have any questsions, please feel free to fanmail me or Detroitfan. Predominately me because I'm making this blog without consulting him first. lqtm. If you've got any suggestions or ahem, criticisms, fanmail me or Detroitfan too. I'm sure there's a flaw to this system somewhere, so help a dude out.

And if you're wondering why the hell I posted this so early (it's June 16th, we wouldnt start until August 3rd): It never hurts to get things going early so we're perfectly set up when the time comes. I procrastinated many times during high school and found out the hard way with many F's on tests and projects. (still had over a 3.0 GPA. Boo-ya)

I'm sorry, but the NFL Fan Club TD League 3 will not be able to continue. 6 out of 12 people have been scratched from the TD League. Plus, I'm having internet problems. And school is a pain in the butt... Anyway, there will be another TD League eventually. But for now, I'm too busy and so are most others. Again, I'm sorry to all who were in the TD League, but it is unable to continue at this time. I'm sorry.

NFL Fan Club TD League 3 Rules And Divisions

Hey everyone, here are the rules for the 3rd NFL Fan Club TD League.

Whoever is listed 1st in the Throwdown is who starts the arguments. YOU HAVE 24 HOURS TO RESPOND TO YOUR OPPONNENTS ARGUMENT! I will be inforcing that rule this time around. There will be 4 regular season matchups, and the 2 people with the highest winning % (minimum of 3 Throwdowns in League), will move on to face each other. The winner of that matchup is the division champs, and they will go on to face the other division champion for the title. The 4 people who make the playoffs are guarenteed entry into the next TD League. Asking for votes will NOT be allowed. You are allowed to say "Check out this Throwdown", but if you ask for votes, you will be kicked out of the TD League. If a tie occurs, a panel of 3 people will decide who wins. All group members will help decide topics, after I post the message "Topics" on the group message board. Just respond and suggest your topics. The League will begin next week. The TD's will be held on Monday's. Just argue your opponet sometime on Monday. IF YOU DON'T BEGIN YOUR THROWDOWN BY THURSDAY, YOU AUTOMATICALLY TAKE THE LOSS! I will inforce that rule! If a starter can't participate one week, a randomly selected reserve will take his place. Thank you and good luck to all.

Now for the divisions. They are ranked in order of winning percentage right now. The divisions are very close. The North's total winning percent is 74% whle the South has a winning percent of 76.

NFL Fan Club TD League Championship Recount

For the 2nd NFL Fan Club TD League, DetroitFan was announced the winner after beating Steelercooz, 26-25. Well, 5 of DetroitFan's votes have been deleted (I'm not accusing DetroitFan of anything, it was merely that 5 people who voted for him have been deleted since), leaving Steelercooz as the winner, 25-21. So, with the power that is within me, I hereby am forced to take the title away from DetroitFan. I must give the title to Steelercooz. Again, I'm sorry for this DetroitFan. Also, congrats to you Steelercooz.

P.S. The next TD League will be begining soon.

NFL Preview - Week 10

Ok everyone, here are my Week 10 picks.

Falcons vs. Panthers - Panthers - No real explanation for this pick, it just seems like the right pick.

Vikings vs. Packers - Packers - Adrain Peterson did great last week, but that won't happen again this week as the Packers will be too much for the Vikes to handle.

Broncos vs. Chiefs - Broncos - With LJ's injury situation iffy, I will take the Broncos.

Bills vs. Dolphins - Bills - Buffalo has been playing great, and they will squeek out a win against Miami.

Rams vs. Saints - Saints - Drew Brees will toss 3 Touchdowns in the win.

Browns vs. Steelers - Steelers - The Steelers will take a 2 game lead over the Browns with the win.

Jaguars vs. Titans - Titans - The Titans D will lead them to a win...

Eagles vs. Redskins - Redskins - McNabb has looked horrible this season....

Bengals vs. Ravens - Ravens - Willis McGahee will run all over the weak Bengals D.

Lions vs. Cardinals - Lions - Jon Kitna will throw for 275 yards and 2 Touchdowns in the win.

Cowboys vs. Giants - Cowboys - The 'Boys are too much for New York to handle...

Bears vs. Raiders - Raiders - Raiders will win due to the fact that the Bears terrible Offense will barely even put up points.

Colts vs. Chargers - Colts - Nearly took down the Pats last week, but they will take down the Chargers this week.

49ers vs. Seahawks - Seahawks - Both teams haven't fared well, but the Seahawks will still win.

Ok everyone, the moment you've all been waiting for... ravensfan's picks for Week 9!

49ers vs. Falcons - Falcons - A toss up here. The Falcons are at home, giving them a slight edge.

Bengals vs. Bills - Bills - Buffalo is playing great football right now...

Broncos vs. Lions - Lions - Jon Kitna will throw for over 250 yards and at least 2 touchdowns translating to a Detroit win.

Packers vs. Chiefs - Packers - The Pack has all the momentum in the world after last week...

Chargers vs. Vikings - Chargers - LT will get in the end zone in the win.

Jaguars vs. Saints - Jaguars - Maurice Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor will run all over New Orleans.

Redskins vs. Jets - Redskins - The 'Skins will rebound after getting crushed last week.

Panthers vs. Titans - Titans - With the Panthers QB issues, this one goes to the Titans.

Cardinals vs. Bucaneers - Bucaneers - Jeff Garcia has been on fire so far. That will continue this week.

Seahawks vs. Browns - Browns - Gut feeling...

Patriots vs. Colts - Patriots - The Pats will win in a thriller. Brady throws a Touchdown that proves to be the game winner as the Pats win by 7.

Texans vs. Raiders - Raiders - Just feels like the right pick...

Cowboys vs. Eagles - Cowboys - McNabb will have a terrible day in an Eagles loss.

Ravens vs. Steelers - Steelers - It hurts to say this, but the Steelers will win.

NFL Fan Club TD League 2 Champion

Ok everyone, for the NFL Fan Club TD League 2, the Championship Throwdown between DetroitFan and Steelercooz has been finished.

The Throwdown went to the wire, with a final score of 26-25. The arguments were great from both sides. It was a hard fought battle.

And the winner was...

And the winner was... (Dramatic pause).... DetroitFan!!!! DetroitFan won the NFL Fan Club Throwdown League 2! Congrats to him on this win. Also, congrats to Steelercooz, who finished as the runner up and congrats to all of those who participated in the NFL Fan Club Throwdown League 2.

Sorry I couldn't write my Week 7 predictions, I was very busy. Here are my Week 8 predictions though.

Colts vs. Panthers - Colts - Peyton is too much for Carolina...

Lions vs. Bears - Lions - The Bears are hurting and that will continue this week.

Steelers vs. Bengals - Steelers - Willie Parker will have a HUGE day.

Giants vs. Dolphins - Giants - Plaxico Burress will have a nice game, leading to a win for New York.

Eagles vs. Vikings - Vikings - Adrain Peterson=125+yards and 2 touchdowns.

Browns vs. Rams - Browns - Even if Steven Jackson plays, the Browns will take this one.

Raiders vs. Titans - Titans - Just feels like the right pick. I have no reason why...

Bills vs. Jets - Bills - Trent Edwards will lead the Bills to a win.

Texans vs. Chargers - Chargers - LT will have a monster week.

Jaguars vs. Bucaneers - Bucaneers - Jeff Garcia has looked great so far this season, a trend that will continue this week.
