OSU Football Ticket Lottery- Part Deux

Well-- I SHOULD be content; at least I got tickets. But it is once again to a non-conference game, and how I found out REALLY p*sses me off: they charged my credit card and didn't notify me.  I had no idea that I got a game, I had no idea the charge went through, and I had no idea WHICH game I got.

So I once again call the Ohio State Athletic Ticket Office, and once again try not to lose my cool on the poor CSR who is unfortunate enough to end up with me...

Me: Hello. I noticed that my card has been for tickets.  I thought that wasn't going to be happening until July 1st.

NCAA= National Crime Acceptance Association?

I hopped on to the SI NCAA Football site today, and no less than four of the stories were about crimes that players had committed. It keyed up something in my head, so I clicked on the "More Stories" link, just to see.  At least HALF of the stories were about arrests, other misconduct, or academic dismissals.

When did it get to be so bad? I'm not naive-- I went to Ohio State during the Cooper Era: I know things went on that were ethically questionable (at best), not just at my alma mater, but everywhere. It just seems like more and more players are getting into more (and more severe) trouble, and neither the coaches nor the NCAA are doing anything about it.

OSU Football Ticket Lottery System

OK-- so Athletics and the Alumni Association have finally announced how they will distribute tickets to those of us frothing at the mouth to go to an OSU Football Game. For those unfamiliar with the old system, let me 'splain: As an alum, you were entitled to purchase two tickets to a home game except for the TSUN game-- see below. The games were divided up based upon (maiden) last name, and you were supposed to rotate every year between conference and non-conference games. Great. Except that they "sometimes" (read: regularly) oversold games and they would switch you to a different game or you wouldn't get a game at all, and they would refund your money.

She's Ba-ack...

Wow-- alot has happened since I was last here. I didn't mean to be away for so long, but life happens.  Suffice it to say that Spring Game is next weekend, Draft is the weekend following, and life can begin again.

:)

New Olympic Sport...

... Cat Bathing. The person who comes out driest with the least amount of scratches and/or bite marks is the winner.

I'd compete, but I doubt I'd win-- I'm always soaked to the bone...
