The Reds' Killer V's

The Fantasy Sports Forum.com

The Reds 9-0 trouncing of the Cubs on Wednesday was the coming out party for one super prospect, Joey Votto, and the continued domination of another, Edinson Volquez.

Votto crushed 3 homers, to bring his season total up to 7, to go along with 18 RBIs and a .302 average. He is showing fantasy owners who drafted him that the pre-season hype is not unwarranted. And while Dusty Baker continues to give Scott Hatteberg occasional starts, (stealing at bats from Votto), it won't be long before he's playing everyday as the Reds will be in a fight to stay in the wild card race.

So, do you think Roger Clemens wishes he never would've filed this defamation lawsuit?  He's getting killed in every form of the media.  Forget performance enhancing drugs, now they have him sleeping with just about everyone.  Goes to show you, if you have skeletons in your closet, don't leave the door open for anyone to find.

For crying out loud, someone please give Prince Fielder a steak!

The Breakout Wide Recievers for 2008

2008 Breakout Wide Receivers

The third year breakout wide receiver theory has become one of the most known theories by fantasy football managers because of a few wide receivers who became dominant during their third season. Unfortunately, this theory is so well-known that most fantasy sites usually rank all third year wide receivers higher than they really should so if you want one of them you will have to draft them early and there are quite a few that do not breakout. In this article I decided to look at all wide receivers in years two to five and find out if there are actually more third year wide receivers that breakout. Moreover I looked at the WRs that did breakout and tried to find criterions that differentiate WRs that do breakout from the ones that don't.

We're now a month into the baseball season and it's time to scan the rosters of the teams in your league to find some underachieving stars who can be acquire on the cheap.  The strategy is to find a vulnerable owner who is tired of carrying the dead weight of such a player, and whose stats are bringing down the rest of his team.  Not all owners are impatient or have a quick trigger finger on making deals, but if you look hard enough you'll find at least one - and all it takes is one.  This owner has likely become frustrated and is probably looking to "shake things up".  If you have something he likes, then you'll be able to acquire an established talent for a bargain.  Below is a list of some players at every position who have had a terrible April, but could get close to posting their customary numbers.  Many of these players have a level of risk attached to them for various reasons, but if the value exchange is right for you in a deal - and there is a fit within your team - then the upside should top the potential downside.
