Cage Rage on the Move for Ian Freeman's Return

MMA Numbers in the News - Winning and Losing

35 Number of days in jail (35) Chris Leben was sentenced to after he turned himself over to Oregon authorities for a DUI back in 2005. In 2007 he moved to Hawaii and attempted to get the probation transferred, but it was denied. His appearance on the UFC 85 card in London necessitated a Visa and resolution of the situation in Oregon, so...

430 On (4/30) Leben turned himself over in hopes of being able to still fight Michael Bisping in London. The 35 day jail sentence pushed his release date too close to the June 7th event and it is now reported that the fight has been canceled throwing another wrench into UFC 85 plans, as if it needed any more!

This Week in MMA History May 4th to May 11th

7 Vitor Ribeiro and Gilbert Melendez both collected win number (7) on May 4 and both came in Shooto at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. Pretty cool, same date, same event, same number of wins (and both had no losses), except the fights were two years apart! First on May 4, 2003 Vitor Ribeiro gained a decision victory over Ryan Bow for his seventh win. Two years and a whopping 36 Shooto events later, Melendez also captured his seventh victory on May 4, 2005 when he TKO'd Naoya Uematsu at 4:30 of round two. So how coincidental is this? Well in Shooto's nearly twenty years and 238 events these two shows are the only two to fall on May 4th.

2 The time (2:00 AM) a sick at the time Liddell said he got in the night before one of those promotional interviews for the movie.
