Well, to help dudeman with the strain of things, I have decided to resume writing my game reviews for the sake of his sanity. Lately I haven't been able to focus on other groups but, I'm finally getting back into the swing of things so without further adu, here is the Mets - Cardnials review ...

Well, let's start off with how annoyed I am with the Mets this season. Things began to go extremly downhill with the firing of Willie Randolph and from there it has been from Jerry Manuel calling fans manure to the losing streaks. And then Johan giving up a run to an AL pitcher for the first time in 37 years ... that just topped everything. Fast forward a bit and here we are to the series against the Cardinals.

RANDOLPH HAS BEEN FIRED!

Early this morning, on the East Coast, the Mets organization made the decision to fire manager Willie Randolph, pitching coach Rick Peterson and first base coach Tom Nieto. The Mets have named bench coach Jerry Manuel as their interim manager, and they have brought up Ken Oberkfell (manager at Triple-A),Dan Warthen (pitching coach for the Zephyrs) and Luis Aguayo (Mets field coordinator).

This is a very significant move for the Mets. There had been speculation for about 2 weeks that Randolph would fired, and Mets management finally took the step to dismiss the manager. The Mets have a 138 million dollar payroll, and a 3-35 record. That does not add up. Throw in the collapse last year, and this move was inevitable.
