In Free Fall

Can you imagine a plane taking off? Imagine that this plane is supposed to go really fast and smoothly. It starts off not quite as high and fast as its supposed to, but then gets a little rocky. Then it goes down a little bit, but still has a chance to straighten back out and fly well. And then when it looks like the plane could go fast again, it nosedives, at about 1,000,000 mph, into the ground, and the pilot sits back and goes down with the plane.

Cleveland Indians: 1st Half Report Card

Well, a season to remember has now become a season we all just want to forget. But there have been some bright spots in this season, like Grady Sizemore, and some painful sights, like Franklin Gutierrez. But this disaster can't be all of their faults. So I'm giving out a grade to each of the starters. I try not to be the tough teacher, but I am. So now, some grades.

What to do...

So I have been out of the country for the past 9 days so I haven't been able to keep track of my precious Tribe. I came back to find out that they lost 7 of their last 10 and were in last place. How does a team that was within one game of the World Series last year become this bad?

I have no answer.

I have no answer for how to fix the team.

I only have on suggestion-- Fire sale sort of just trade away Paul Byrd and C.C. Sabathia and start building for the future and next year.

Don't look now Volquez

but

Carsten Charles Sabathia is catching you big man.

He now has back to back double digit K games and 4 for the entire season.

C.C. has 107 Ks this year compared to Volquez' 110.

Next closest?

Lincecum with 95.

So its pretty clear and obvious that its a two man race. CC and Volquez going for the strikeout crown at the end of the year.

My prediction is CC taking it with 240+ strikeouts. He is about to have one of the most dominant surges in MLB history with his ERA now hovering 4. He has obviously passed Cliff Lee for the best pitcher on the Indians this year and if we have a starting pitcher in the all star game hopefully its Carsten because he deserves it a lot more than Lee.

Take him, we don't WANT him

Let me promise you this. If we aquire Matt Holliday or Garrett Atkins, I will be incredibly pissed. This would mean that the GM is basically a moron. It doesn't take an expert to see Holliday ain't **** but I guess we are just so idiotic that we lust after a player whose roof is 36 homeruns while playing for the Rockies.

Wow, what a suprise, Holliday is batting .284 with 2 homeruns and 8 RBIs on the road this year. I never would've guessed!
