Osoria, O-Sorry-A-Nother Blown Perfomance

Acutally I am sorry...to my dinner that is. Because of such a poor performance tonight by the Buccos I felt compelled to voice my ever changing tone & conviction. To be honest, I didnt even watch the game, nor see the highlights, but the www.SI.com bottom line & box score said more than my virgin ears could handle.  After ponying up my first positive Pirates Blog of the season the pitching goes off and does it again. If you arent ready to ship Osoria to Indianapolis, or to hell, or even to Atlantis on a unicorn for that matter, just as long as his sorry butt doesnt curse the tradition filled Pirate Cluhouse. We could have so easily been .500 tonight its disgusting. But like I said yesterday, Pirates and Interleague play is just not a Leverne and Shirly relationship.

The Pirates True Test of the Year

Following the '08 Pirates I am not sure whether I'm at a ballpark or a dog track... The Bucs are like dogs at the race track chasing the bone. It seems like the .500 milestone has been within reach numerous times this season. They get so close then magically the rug pulls right underneath their feet and they start to lose big and often. And that "rug" has been nothing more than the starting pitching. I'm sure you are as surprised as I am. I figured, as did 90% of most baseball people, that the Pirates would have been one of the best starting rotations in the league. If you told me that Zach Duke would be a respected 4-4 and have a team leading 4.10 era, that would leave me to believe that the Pirates would be standing in the top 5 in starting pitching...Never would I think dead last.

Therrien to be fired?!?!?!?!

A reliable source has confirmed that the Penguins Ownership and Upper Management are to meet next week to decide the fate of Coach Therrien. Word is that many of the Penguin players are fed up with the Coach. Also to note that Mario was opennly unimpressed with the preparation of Pens for the run at the Cup. Also, key unrestricted free-agents have mentioned to Shero that they will not return if Therrien is running the show. This is breaking new so I will keep you updated.

Thank You Detroit

I am a diehard Penguins fan, well diehard Fan of the city of Pittsburgh. As crushed as I am that we lost in the finals, I can't say enough about the team that beat us, or the city & fans that they represent. I made it to the first 5 games in both Detroit and Pittsburgh. When I was in Detroit I got rattled and rused a lil, but more so than not, i had Detroit fans come up to me and say, hey great year, good luck, your team is so fun to watch, etc. I was in Aww while being there. Its not that they were nice, its how respectful they were. And not to mention the consimate profssionals that the Red Wings are as a hockey team. Congratulations to Detroit and their fans, and thank you for the experience.

Malkin, Which Team Does He Play For???

I've been blogging, writing, and down right complaining about Malkin in the Cup. If its possible to single-handedly lose a game, he lost game 4. He had 13 turnovers, 13! And 4 on the powerplay, with one of them in our end on a 5 on 3! I am not sure what is going on in his head but he is gone. We should bench him. He is not ready for the Primetime. Reminds me of Jagr, big head case.
